I have a few points Id like you to consider:
    - the main drum pattern is a bit repetitive: there's hardly any change on any bar
    - the song drags on a bit too much IMHO, around 3:30 - 3:50 i'd say it should have ended but it keeps going for another section of the main theme
    - this is just personal taste but i think the drums are a bit too loud compared to the rest, but nothing overbearing

    but i liked it overall

    Yo......

    K im listenin....
Doin ths in real time as i go long.....

Has a slightly saturated or maybe clipped feel...
I cant say anythn coz my ol stuff clips as fuck, N this is just on the cusp is all...
Id maybe eased up jus a touch on the kick..."Saturation i thnk"
    Its good tho...
I mean its thought out quite well..
I gotta agree wtyh Backtired bout the drums tho...
Again tho as he rightly stated its more a preferential thing thn a critique....

    Very kinda liquidy yeah....
I mean like from a fukn technicall standpoint theres truly not much fault
    Not thats obvious...
    Hooks good ovr all...
Yeah oki if were to be brutal ,and as backtired also said..>
At that 3 min mark idve personally let it all kinda kick off n go a bit mental! he he...
Even if its via drum work...

Like a dnb trk doesnt actually have to be driven by bass ..
It can indeed by melody/pad/atmo driven, and alongside it havin the drum programmin doin the work of carryin it along..

But those parts where youd goto another octave wth that hook "Should defo have had a drum variant goin on"....

And at least on like the 2nd time the drums cycle ovr at an 8bar interval ,you shouldve switched the patterns up a litlle...

But i mean its certainly not bad my friend....
The elements "mostly" are in fact there.....

They jus need a lil polish n slight re-sequencing ,if it were me that is...
I will say this>>> "and its by no means an insult in any way"

Its a little "Safe" sounding ,but isnt a bad thng neither....
I like it though dont get me wrong...
    Outta curiosity>
how many dnb/jungle pieces you programmed before thn ...?..

hey man thanks for writing all this, much appreciated,MASSIVE RESPECT.
I've been an early junglist myself since the early times of Fabio & Grooverider, intelligent Drum & Bass ltj bukem era,all the metalheadz scene to the shogun audio thing nowadays and the Hospital records vibes. My favorite artist is the ONE & ONLY CALIBRE liquid love here.
As for the track Raindrops,it was made so it can fly more with the atmosphere of the Rain Rains Rain EP,the track was created with a minimal kind of flavor in mind.I have many Drum & Bass tracks in my hidden music vault that are way better than this one and true to the d&b scene, maybe one day i will share :speaker:

These days its just not the same any more tho...."not like it was then"
All bout overbloated beats n basses...
Im not complainin as such coz i kinda got sucked into that element too...
But i broke away from it a little wth new stuff im stll programn

    Heh....

Well i initally wanted to say like "Mann listen loved it from way before it even was!....
Like i remember acid evolving into acid house/tek..
Thats time ago mind you but ,didnt wanna seem like n ol fart referencing it all too tough!

    He he!...
But yeah i love the entire journey it all took to reach "Jungle tekno"...
Like 98 before dnb was truly dnb..............."Know what im sayin?"
Coz theres a cycinkt difference between the two especially at that time, but not many could distinguish it.....

Oh and yeah i was a kid back then is all..

Main problem for me is teh snare sound, which annoys! It's not quite cruching potato chip packet bad, but almost! I think it would sound moar liquid to have real drums? Nothing wrong w/ real snare. Also, lacking in variety! Keep expecting lil rolling / flams for thundery fx also? Maybe too on teh nose, but still effective to get rly into ur programming to create random (nature) drum "fx" --> eventually resolve into proper "patterns".

    Yeah, tis true.

It works fine from the pov of how many element u got, but needs a bit moar variation / timbres.

Yeah, coudn't agree moar w/ most of what Jynxy said!

Yeah, the ideas are sound, and it could develop into something rly special. But I agree, it's often easier to move on to the next thing than drive urself crazy tryn to program ur way out!
