Hiya, I’m working in a small 2.2 meters squared room treated to the best of my ability (it’s a rental). I’m trying to mix some busier vgm-style with some busy classical arrangements. At the moment the mix I’m working on lacks a bit of clarity and distinction between the different elements, some things are definitely a bit pokey in the mids and there’s a bit too much random heft at times in the low end. I did try the PMC TB2 with my 250w mono Icepowers and it had remarkable resolution that showed reverb sizes clearly and even guided me to very specific EQ moves instantly, but when I checked the mix on other systems I felt the choices I’d made didn’t really translate. I could try the LB1s as they’re in my price range too- but perhaps the translation would be very similar to the TB2’s?

I have a Hilo for DA and a B&W ASW10 for a sub, was just wondering what people’s experiences are on the R3s and LS50 variants (can’t afford R3 Metas).

I saw a reddit post where someone said the Ls50 Metas were more optimized for the midrange and some users saying the R3 felt like stuff was missing (https://www.reddit.com/r/KEF/comments/14ukd10/kef_r3_or_ls50_meta/) - at the same time, I’ve read some people swear by the R3s and that it’s replaced multiple other speakers for them even for mastering (with a sub).

Would love to hear about any of your experiences with mixing/mastering on any of these models. Thanks so much for your time.
