I have issues with them on a MacBook Pro and iMac, atleast when running more then 2 instances.

Softube Marshalls are so faithful sounding compared to anything anyone ever tried, they really sound like the real deal in studios, not sure if you can use them via a real cab some how but maybe so.

I'm not a guitarist so I tried it with a VSTi git. Output set so that it peaks nicely at -2dB FS to force clipping in Fortin (which you shouldn't do, ofc). Fortin input set to 0dB and I tried a bunch of presets and played a bit with the various settings, switched from mono to stereo and from normal OS to high OS. Even when Fortin's input showed clipping I couldn't hear any. Maybe because my DAW is set to 32bit FP?
So, the plugin works fine here.
But, holy moly, it's pretty CPU demanding.

I actually thought the Softube Marshalls were the worst ones, they sounded tinniest & flimsiest to me. I like Fortin Nameless way more. Even the Marshalls in Amplitube 4 are better even though Marshall didn't endorse others to put the Marshall branded logo on their plugins.

But I haven't tried every single Softube Marshall plugin yet like the Kerry King for example so I'm not speaking for every single version from Softube. That's only my opinion though. Some setups & tones work for some & others don't.

Yeah it can be especially if you have the stereo switch engaged & the high quality switch as well. But when I disengage them I can track with it pretty easy, but then reamp with the stereo & high quality on later when I bounce my clips down after re-amping.

Also I didn't see any clipping on my end either.

Do you mean Neural DSP? I don't think there will be any difference but I guess he could try it.
Hmm... I have never experienced any clicks or pops with Nameless ever since it was released. I guess some systems just don't get along with it!

One thing to try, lower in Input level on the plug-in itself. Helix Native I have found doesn’t like too hot a signal, and lowering the input gain may sort it (sorry if I have misunderstood the issue)

it's not technically possible for plugin to cause clipping itself,
clipping happens at analog->digital conversion on your audio interface, and digital->analog conversion on your audio interface,

you need to make sure incoming signal into your DAW is not clipping, and outgoing signal from your DAW is not clipping

"I own legit copies of some of the plugins, switched them all to superior DRM free R2R versions, never had an issue with clipping on either."
I am out of here hahahaha!! lmao

No issues here but I mainly use the reaper stock plugins, and made a few JS plugins for some custom effects, but that's about it.
Use the WaveArts plugin Pack for some dialog.

Same Issue here with the Cory Wong plugin in Live 11. Especially the Full Smush Lead preset (must be the 5th preset or so) spikes my CPU load over 120%. I tried vst3 and vst2 both are the same.

Vst2 needs round about 2x the default preset here but nothing like 120% (in fact ~ 6%). So it seems not be a bug or something.

After trying Live 10.125 and Reaper 6.27 which had the exact same crackles and cpu usage I finally found the solution! I realised that Ableton always spikes when my CPU throttles down. In my Energyoptions I had set 5% to be lower limit of cpu and 100% as max limit. Now since I have set 95% as lower limit there are no spikes anymore.

Hello!! I have the same problem here! Using Ableton 11. All of my Neural Vst are making a cracking sound like they were clipping. Where do you change your energy options? On windows? I already checked my energy options and they are 100% on both, minimum and maximum. I've already read all comments above and my inputs levels are ok, there is no clipping on inputs signals. If you listen to the clean sound of guittar, there is no problem at all. All clean. But when you turn on any one of the neural vst...there comes the clipping sound. I've tried Guitar Rig 6 ass well, and no clipping. Buut I don't like how GR6 sounds. I am using a Raedon 5 3400 3,7 GHz.

So this is about clicks and pops due to CPU spikes, not audio clipping. The usual suspects are the energy options, set to high peformance, maybe some bios options too and so on
