More like why wouldn't you? Answer: You'd have to get someone to do it for you. :)

The legit is like that, if not even laggier lol (R2R have been known to clean up releases, see their Cymatics Diablo release if you don't believe me haha). Tone Empire releases 90% trash, 10% heat imo.

I don't know much as far as performance - I have never noticed much problem and so I don't go looking...
Of course certain teams release things that others don't, and for certain Vendor's stuff one may be easier or work better than another.
    For examples:
VR for Toontrack is a well-known match.
I also like VR for Arturia, and nice that they provide the huge presets collection as well.

As much as I am an R2R fan (check my avatar), they don't often do preset collection on many of these.
That's why, even if one gets the newest R2R, one might look back for any other releases that contain huge preset collections.
Then (if one can't extract the presets ) use Revo Uninstaller to install the package, save the preset folder(s), uninstall and then install R2R and add the presets manually.

While R2R and Team Cubeadooby may be "compatible", R2R often creates folders in Program Files for manuals, uninstallers, etc that even the vendor might not, so uninstalling previous installations is best for removing remnants.
Revo Uninstaller is nice in that one can look back at all the files and folders created, registry entries created, etc if there should be a question or problem.

R2R can create keygens like real pros (CRUDE, BTCR, DRMARIO, BLiZZARD etc.) some are great friends actually.

The others can't....ask yourself, why is that? :chilling:

This is also not correct. There are a lot of R2R releases called "Blabla VST - keygen and patched". Often they have to patch a file to make the keygen working.

VRs crack of the soft elicencer is legendary. It was/is so good you could even transfer the soft elicences to a dongle and make them legit. Steinberg could not detect it. It had full Halion 6/absolute and all libraries and all other steinberg soft elicence protected stuff. Might even be the reason Steinberg changed protection (which made things worse for them). Still on my system for legacy stuff. Of course the new R2R steinberg licencing crack is even more spectacular.

Well, I think it gives people some insight about it.
The insight is mostly that they all do pretty amazing and we are lucky to benefit.
    Sometimes they do extra amazing.

This might be the most annoying series of tweets I have ever read. Their tone is weirdly snarky and condescending including the replies making fun of R2R's techniques. For example, "Lol using shim dll is so 2005". Hopefully, these skilled twitter users can share their cracks of audio software soon.

Twitter has become a big steaming pile of bullshit during the last years. For one decent tweet you find 100 of BS, random attacks, blablabla
Still many people needs to use it for some things.
This would be my takeaway too.

V.R. for Steiny == no muss no fuss works every time. Dunno what others are doing to it when they say it fails but my guess is their host systems are hosed to begin with. Never had a problem with V.R.s steinbug stuff and it's MUCH easier to deal with than the R2R stein method.

Why you think that? If you read my answer to Stevie Dude, it´s not about vst´s eating RAM but about infected vst´s with trojans, viruses etc. which nobody want to have on his computer to at the end find out he cannot make music

Basically what is really important, is whatever aspect of the topic that hasn't already been debunked as BS. Virii? That is reaching for the moon with anything left. For now.

there are no infected vsts here from the other place. ok fine if you download the stuff repacked from torrent pages i wouldnt trust it. But i think the groups mentioned here, all do a good work and release clean stuff.

Not sure what you mean by "Links?", but after 8+ years downloading stuff from sister site, I have never gotten any trojan, virus etc.
And I am a hobbyist who, until the past 8-10 months, used to install nearly EVERY VSTi provided.
Unlike some who have to focus on making music and don't have as much time for exploration, I've been able to sample a huge number of these things, but have never had that kind of trouble.

I have only seen ONE mention from a respected source (respected by me, at least) that any virus or trojan has ever been uploaded to sister site, but that it was taken down very quickly, and I think it might have been before my time here.
So far in this thread I see no decent speculation regarding virus or trojans.
In every thread I have read here regarding such things there has yet to be any credible evidence that there has been a virus or trojan.
So, while it may be possible, the chances are more likely that a few of us will be killed by lightning.
For those living in fear, I suggest a tin foil hat and backing up your OS disk at least once per week.
