I updated the list from your initial suggestion. (Cardinal, Druma, Silver)

GOLD5, Cobalt2 already released I believe ? will add Graphite and Cream 2 and remove Surrey. Titanium Basstard doesnt have own manual and mentioned inside Titanium manual.

Hi everyone, I hope someone could help me out there. I downloaded a bunch of these Acustica plugins from here. I followed the included instructions -hopefully correct- installed the Framework etc. In Reaper I canopen the plugin but no GUI and no parameters at all. Do I need the N4? Someone else with the same kind of problem here?

    Thanks in advance,

    Ariosto

    You dont need the N4

My guess is you made a mistake when you installed framework , remember to put only the files into system32, dont put them there inside the framework folder they came with

I think this is your problem but i offer also extra thing to check:

If you are sure you put only the files and not the framework folder into system32, then make sure you put the files from the common! folder inside your chosen vst/aax format folder. Dont put the common! folder into the folder of the vst2/vst3/aax , only the files

You are assuming he used R2R - He did not - your last question should have told you that. Demo's do not have 48Khz

    • You missed the pre-Hyper Tech, excludes Ivory5
    • Misinterpretation#1, cracking freqs does not mean cracking harmonics - even if the harmonics have a 'break point' too.
    • Noise floor removal, re-read it - Misinterpretation#2 - he never said it's bad. He just said what is
Oh he's a real engineer Stevie. In case you have not noticed, I am mainly on regularly around Christmas. Why is that? Is it because I may be busy the rest of the year?

Consider as an engineer, he might too be. Are you are real engineer? Based on how much time you spend on here, you must not sleep if you are because it is unlikely you are employed as one if you do not sleep. He is as much as a freelance engineer can be and largely because of his knowledge..

Aren't you the same StevieDude who PM's me when R2R released Reason and yo ucould not get it working and begged me to send you mine when I purchased it? If so, then at that point, you had not bought one single plugin or piece of software and you call yourself a real engineer? Careful when you throw shit at someone Stevie. Every real engineer I have been with in a studio for decades, has purchased most, if not all of what they use all the time.

Ivory5 is Hyper Tech ? since when..

    upload_2023-12-13_6-39-56.png

it's digital and AA plugins has really small internal gain working range. a good engineer should understand working internal gain range. beyond that it goes to clipping real quick. all plugin does, that's pretty common. AA plugin just goes to it quicker due to its smaller range, first to even 10th time user still get this one wrong. you can ask around.

AA plugins didn't even remove it, it's there. I said removing it is a good thing doesnt mean AA removed it. They didn't. Your engineer friend forgot to turn on the PRE. PRE off, no noise floor, no harmonic, no compression artifact. it's simple as that.

Correct. I'm not employed, just an employer. :) I paid monthly salary to two guys for the past 2 years. It's fun to have assistants you can boss around you should try it. own a small production studio shared with a partner here. been a touring musician for 15 years brother. chilling in studio is a lot like "retirement" phase for me. lel. let's just say I'm unemployed for 3/4 of my adult life. haha. just because you are busy working doesn't mean we here at my workplace didnt playing hard to get with the A&R guy saying fu regularly because we hate their faces. it's okay to be proud of where you are, but come on, this isnt kindergarten.

    okay

lol, atleast get what pre-Hyper Tech means. then it's debatable.

I think what might be more useful here is to simply give a clear use case. For example, specify a particular Acqua, do x, y, z and observe the product of that.

This way we can hopefully verify this 'cracking at certain frequencies' statement.

It's very interesting and I'm sure we'd all like to understand this precisely. Right now I'm not clear as to what the statement means exactly.

So, if you would be so kind, just tell us the steps to repro this issue (gain in, settings etc).

    Cheers.

Everything is working in SNOW equalizer, including LMF module. There is no missing SNOW_LMF# vectors. Those 'missing' files are never existed. It's just one corrupt byte in SNOWEQ.N2S file.

There are 14 SNOW_LMF#_$.N2V files in common folder, both for 44.1 and 96 kHz. All of them are used 35 times except one — LMF5 for both sample rates, there are only 34 calls for it. But there is one call for nonexistent LMF6 file instead. Clearly it is just error, there must be 35 calls for LMF5 and none for LMF6.

LMF module is working fine after replacing wrong value:

In any HEX editor find string:
    SNOW_LMF6_$RATEKHZ.N2P

And replace it with this string:
    SNOW_LMF5_$RATEKHZ.N2P

Or download fixed file from the sister you know.

    dope. it's working. :like: Thanks.

not sure if it is allowed to post here though. will update the thread but will wait to see if the file are allowed to share here or not. One more thing, can you please maybe take a look at the SNOWPRE problems (volume drop for a certain PRE selection) as listed on the main post of thread, if it's within you capability and if you have free time of course. It is reported that only happening @ 44.1kHz

Nobody has successfully managed to speak for "ALL THE PEOPLE" in history. Nobody intelligent would and only speak for themselves. LOSE THE EGO .
Get back to helping without the self puffing. There are some engineers on here who know a lot more than you. Because they choose not to interact does not mean they do not exist.
And none was off-topic. If you read instead you'd see in context to get back to topic. I passed something on. You character assassinated an engineer without even knowing who it was. It is in B&W for all to see. seems you can dish it out but cannot take it in return. That is not how life works.
    GET BACK TO TOPIC

Enough of pollution. So guys, what do you think about the SMOKE way of operating. Kinda weird/hard huh ? Also the metering is weird, the DOUBLE mode suppose to be adaptive mode but the VU meter not moving is kinda a bummer, which made Arturia's version is easier to use. It's cool just to listen can dial it up, but if the VU meter is showing how the compression is dancing it should be way way better no ?

Anything i'm going to say about this plugin is going to be 100% biased because i loved it. I loved the fact that they introduced a threshold instead of compressing only on the input gain, love they way it sounded and the sonic pallette which others don't have. Also with all the fullness and 3D'sh sound that is common to a STA level, but with the magic touch of the pultec on the EQ it blews me off. I thought i had my AA tier list already done, but Smoke changed the game for me. I can see 1000 ways of using this plugin. I don't care "too much" about the VU response on this kind of plugin because the way i use STA Level it doesn't affect my workflow.

one question tho, do you crank the SOA (or that threshold knob) hard, because I feel like on a full mix when you'd wanna go subtle 1db GR wont work, just crank it hard until you feel the low mid start blooming and starts from there. Kinda gotta treat it like a real tube comp hardware which is more forgiving with compression and go hard with it. Idk, but that feels better sounding to me.

it works, just the behavior, since I already got used to the Arturia's version which works a lot like digital comp showing "real" GR lol. It's my go-to for vocals for years now, so this Acqua version feels different but the compression and overall sound, I think I like SMOKE better, the weight it adds alone is amazing. Atleast for today I replaced the Arturia's with this one.

Oh better Nebula version ? interesting. Considering to install the N4 back. hmm
