Yesterday, April 26, the former drummer and pioneer of the Berlin School, Klaus Schulze passed away at the age of 74.

May his tunes never be forgotten.

Oh wow. I didn't know he was a drummer. I was aware of his keyboard skills, though. When people ask me who my influences are in producing ambient music, I typically list Carbon Based Lifeforms, Brian Eno, Suzanne Ciani and Klaus Schulze. Hopefully, he had a good life.

Klaus Schulze's first 10 or so albums were made on LSD for people tripping on LSD.
I was one of those interdimensional astronauts in the 70's.
My room mate wrote him (from Canada) and received two letters in return.
He started out as a crappy drummer (listen to Tangerine Dream's Electronic Meditation) and morphed into a synth god.
His work on Stomu Yamashta's Go outdid the other superstars on the project and brought him fame and wealth.
    Thanks, Klaus.

I hope he's at a place where they play this all night long. Thank you Klaus!

Oh myyyy.... That's so sad!!!... :( :snuffy:

Was a fan of some of his old albums, like "Moondawn", "Black Dance", "Mirage" and "Dune", that I discovered on vinyl in the 80's... long after they was recorded!

I was fascinated by his "cosmic" sound, and his ability to improvise all the times. On stage, instead of reproducing his albums, he was always creating new sequences, new atmospheres... and new impros.

This guy have an immense and infinite creativity, an ability to collaborate with countless artists from different domains and cultures, of course he have influenced all the electronic music, I think he will remains forever a solid reference, a source of inspiration, as his estimated colleagues Jean-Michel Jarre and Vangelis.

My favorite work from him, bought in vinyl few weeks after its release. Still have it. May we all find peace.

Klaus Schulze's music was probably the trigger that got me started with synthesizer music.
Thanks Klaus for the inspirations and the absolutely unique music.

Never been much of a fan, but I enjoy some of his productions with Alphaville and some of his work with Rainer Bloss. A master mind for sure and a great loss. RIP Mr.Schulze.
