    R.I.P. - Jesse Colin Young passed away on March 16, 2025 [November 22, 1941 – March 16, 2025)]

Jesse Colin Young is probably best known for his time as lead singer of the Youngbloods, which he also co-founded.

The Youngbloods were a folk and partly psychedelic band that brought a truly generational anthem to the charts in the late 1960s with the song "Get Together." The song was written by Dino Valente (Quicksilver Messenger Service), and Jefferson Airplane also performed the track, but the Youngbloods shot it to number 5 on the Billboard charts.

At the very latest, upon hearing the title, everyone will recognize the name Jesse Colin Young.
Jesse Colin Young, who was also a songwriter, began working solo after his band broke up in 1972. And his songs were good, so they were often covered. For example, his "Sunlight" was sung by Three Dog Night, and "Darkness Darkness" would become well-known in Robert Plant's version.

Now his wife has informed the public that he died on January 16 in his native South Carolina. The cause of death is unknown. Perry Miller, Jesse Colin Young's real name, was 83 years old.
