He also won second prize at the Tokyo International Song Festival with "Un nouveau jour viola se lever."

Between 1971 and 1979, Michel participated annually in the Festival Le Patriote. During the 1970s, he performed at various venues, including... He performed at the Théâtre du Nouveau-Monde and Place des Arts in Montreal, the Grand Théâtre in Quebec, the Saint Lawrence Centre in Toronto, and the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. On CBC television, he appeared in shows such as Zoom (1973), Vedette en direct (1974, 1976, 1978), Dimanshowsoir (1977), and Les Beaux Dimanches (1978). In 1974, he founded the production company Les Productions Rojamic.

In the mid-1980s, Michel left the stage but continued to write songs for artists such as Martine Chevrier, Nicole Martin, Johanne Blouin, and Nathalie Simard. From 1985 to 1995, he co-wrote and produced the children's television series Le village de Nathalie and Sur la rue Tabaga with Eve Déziel. In 2001, Sylvain Cossette recorded his song "Pas besoin de frapper" for the album *Rendez-vous*. Wilfred LeBouthillier won the first season of the television show *Star Académie* in 2003 with a cover version of "Amène-toi chez nous."

Michel returned to the stage in 2014 at the Festival des Guitares du Monde in Abitibi-Témiscamingue with brothers Marco and Yves Savard. The following year, he released the album *Un nouveau jour*, featuring new arrangements of thirteen of his most successful songs. In 2019, new compositions appeared for the first time since 1982 on the album *Tenir*, produced by André Papanicolaiou. In 2021, he toured Canada with his program *Tenir*, and in 2024 with the show *Seul à seuls*. In 2007, Michel was honored as a Chevalier of the National Order of Quebec.
