Gerd Knebel (born 1953 or 1954 in Rodgau; died January 24, 2026) was a German musician, comedian, and actor.
He rose to prominence as one half of the comedy duo Badesalz.

Knebel was a founding member and singer of the Hessian cult band Flatsch! until their breakup in 1988. He formed the comedy and music duo Badesalz with Henni Nachtsheim. During Badesalz performances, Knebel played guitar in the songs.

From 2005 to 2007, Knebel performed with Olaf Mill (formerly of Flatsch!), Seppl Niemeyer (formerly of Flatsch! and Velvet Universe), Willy Wagner, and Peter Runcl as Die Groben Junggesellen (The Rough Bachelors).

In April 2006, Knebel launched his solo program, "Um was geht's hier eigentlich?" (What's This All About?). He also paid tribute to the late cabaret artist Matthias Beltz, a friend of his, in a joint performance. The show featured new interpretations of Beltz's texts. Since 2013, Knebel has once again toured solo with his program "Wörld of Drecksäck" (World of Scumbags).

In 2007 and 2008, Knebel, along with guitarist Aren Emirze (Harmful, Rinderwahnsinn), formed the core of the German rock band Angst vor Clowns, with Knebel as lyricist and singer. In February 2010, the first CD of a new project with Olaf Mill, Nette Rabenväter, was released. The project performed primarily as an acoustic duo with lyrics in the style (and partly the repertoire) of Grobe Junggesellen, but called it quits in 2014.

In 2011, Gerd Knebel founded the metal band GiftDwarf with Olaf Mill and former Rebellion members Uwe Lulis and Gerd Lücking, who this time sang in English. A self-titled CD was released.In 2018, Knebel released the CD Putzintensiv with Darmstadt rapper Marco Döll under the band name "Dirty Dabbes."

Knebel was the father of two children and lived in southern Hesse. He died in January 2026 at the age of 72 from cancer.
