I saw them in 1981 in "the Capitol" in Berlin...at the age of 12! :) This brought me to electronic music. Before that I listened to AC/DC and KISS. :metal:

Wtf, everybody's gone ? Me and my mates were fixated on D.A.F 's second and third album while still on high school. Beats the hell out of me if we understood a word of the lyrics but we all agreed we wanted to dance like maniacs to their songs :)
    Rest in peace.

My mother is still traumatized of the music I was listeneing to in the early 80s. The only song she really loves and also still knows the lyrics is "Everything Counts" from Depeche Mode. But D.A.F., Kraftwerk, Fad Gadget etc...was to much for her...And I used to boost my amplifier to the maximum! :speaker:
And the funniest thing is, that my nephew (today 1st April he celebrated his 11th birthday) since 3 weeks only is listening and dancing to Depeche Mode...and my brother is going nuts, because he only is listening to Psycho/Rockabilly!

    That's a good thing.

And you also have to see what kind of music my brother was listening to (he is 2 years younger than me). Psychobilly...That is really annoying. My poor Mum!

Two example of one of his favourite Bands (the only one I also was able to listen to for 5 mins without becoming agressive.)

Not sure if I heard this term before but the music ain't that bad.

I mean I really liked this song but I can understand if people find it more difficult to listen to it than to Psychobilly

Yes, but you also must understand. I was totally into electronic music and my brother into Psychobilly....and my mum listened to ABBA, Julio Iglesias and german "Schlager"....while my dad was in a Dixieland Jazz Band as a drummer at this time and alsways played drums in the cellar. Our house was the hell of mixed music styles! :phunk::metal::drummer::crazy:

And to DAF and "Der Räuber und der Prinz"....this was really a scandal when it came out. Radiostations boycotted it because of the lyrics...You know what I mean! A gay prince and a gay robber.

Probably the most known band in this genre is the Cramps. I still love 'em. Known for their lack of a bass player and crazy s&m concerts :)

Meteors also were great, that is if you 're into rocknroll of course:

Yes the Cramps..They where the pioneers but still with a piece of punk in their music...but in early 80ies up to the mid of them there were other bands like "The Meteors", "King Kurt", "Polecats", "Batmobile" "Frantic Flintstones" etc. The Cramps were an U.S. Band...and really different to the european psychobilly bands.

Ohh, the son of our neighbours had my age. He was listening to Bowie and Punk (Dead Kennedys, Bad Religion, Ramones, Bad Brains and german Punk Band "Straßenjungs" and "Slime") This was also not easy for his parents!
