Tavares (also known as The Tavares Brothers) is a Grammy Award-winning American soul, disco, and R&B band that enjoyed its greatest success in the 1970s. Between 1973 and 1983, the group had a total of 27 hits on the American R&B charts. "She's Gone" (1974), "It Only Takes a Minute" (1975), and "Whodunit" (1977) all reached number one. "Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel" and "More Than a Woman" (1976) were other major international hits for Tavares.

The band originally consisted of the five brothers:

    - Ralph – Ralph Viera Tavares (born December 10, 1942; died December 8, 2021)
    - Pooch – Arthur Paul Tavares (born November 12, 1943; died April 15, 2024)
    - Chubby – Antone Lee Tavares (born June 2, 1945; died November 29, 2025)
    - Butch – Feliciano Tavares (born May 18, 1948)
    - Tiny – Perry Lee Tavares (born October 23, 1949)

In 2014, the group was inducted into the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame.
Tavares continued to perform live as a quartet until Pooch Tavares' death.

Amazing band, they were sampled extensively. Hall & Oates even covered them
