R.I.P. - Chris Youlden (ex-Savoy Bown) passed away in April 2025

British singer and songwriter Chris Youlden passed away on April 4th.

Christopher Thomas Youlden, his full name, is probably best known as the singer of the blues band Savoy Brown. The band, led by Kim Simmonds († December 13th, 2022), experienced quite a few personnel changes, making Kim the only musician who remained in the band until his death.

Chris Youlden was the singer of Savoy Brown from 1967 to 1970 and recorded four albums with the band. In addition to the microphone, he also frequently played the piano. After leaving Savoy Brown, he toured solo and released several records.

The songs he wrote are still popular songs in many blues-rock bands today.
Chris died of pneumonia on April 4th, 2025, at the age of 82.
