I extracted an instrument from a beat using stem separation. What the hell is that? It was definitely played with pitch bend.
To me, it sounds like something between a synth duduk and a violin, but also as if it were layered with a kind of voice... I want this preset.

Could be a Ney flute, (or similar)
played vigorously (as it needs to), and considerably saturated an EQed..

 

Could someone possibly create or recreate a Serum patch or other synth patch with this sound so that I can play it? It's a kind of flute, but somehow also a bit like a violin or even a vocal?

Sounds like an Erhu to me, or really anything in the single-string / monochord class of instruments.

 

I think its just formant shifted vocals

 

the intonation indeed suggest something asian string.

but i think the vocal format is so strong, that this is the main part of the sources.

i only listened at laptop in a noisy room.

 

I really don't know how the hell you can create this sound... I would love to have it as a playable synth patch.
