Hi guys, hope everyone is doing well,

I have a question about AMD processors. First of all I have a pc with an Intel processor (i7) and I need to buy a laptop, I would like to take an AMD processor (Ryzen 7) for their quality and price. But I would like to know if the AMD processor poses problems of accounting with certain software, plugins (legal or cracked) but also for the hardware (sound card, analog material...). Finally, can switching from an Intel processor to an AMD processor (and vice versa) be "bad" for the files?

I hope someone can answer my questions

    Kind

You can use the AMD processor without restrictions and without problems. There won't be any problems.

Modern software is quite agnostic to the CPU/mainboard. As long as your drivers run you're good.

The biggest thing you want to look out for is the clockspeed/single-core performance. Intel normally edges out on this, but they lose on others.

So unless you're doing hardcore UHD gaming you'll probably get more out of an AMD chip.

I have a couple years old Intel and 2 new 5900/50 AMD desktops that I built myself. I made a little research about CPU/mobo/RAM combo.. but you are buying a (prebuilt) laptop. Anyway, it is the most stable machine I had to this day. (I mean the AMD PC that I'm using right now) :)

Should not be any issues with current lineup from ASUS and Lenovo featuring:
    AMD Ryzen™ 7 5800H
    AMD Ryzen™ 7 5800HS

Some reading that will help clarify x86-64

i have a Ryzen 5 4600H laptop and it works so well. and it is dead silent even on heavy loads. the main reason i bought the AMD one instead of the Intel model of the laptop is because it provides 2 more cores (4 more threads) for way less cost, like around $100-150 less here where i live.

edit : i forgot to mention that the intel one reportedly had more DPC Latency. the AMD one also had it, but i fixed it by disabling wifi, bluetooth, and the built in Realtek Audio driver.

If at all, it will run more stable than on Intel...

    Just forget about hackintosh
That's the main limitation with AMD for now

    And some Intel only optimizations

the other main "disadvantage" is pROPPER thunderbolt support

you can get thunderbolt through usb 3.1 type C or USB4/thunderbolt4
but it can lead to some compatibility issues.
1)In specific gear you´ll want to use or
    2)older or
2)needs specific thunderbolt implementation. Firewire to thunderbolt adapters or
For instance thunderbolt 2 will not necessarily work with a thunderbolt3 over usb C

So keep that in mind or wait a little "Bit" and see what or if the newest usb4 thunderbolt4 implementation
    fixes some of the issues.

    other hints
ryzen Lucien is an reworked zen2 architecture (better than 4000 but not as fast as zen3) 5300, 5500, 5700

only Cezane is a Zen 3 Architecture
    5000 U,H,HS,HX
    U is @15watts
    H is @45watts
hs is @35 but better silicon
    hx is 45+

    HAVE FUN
and have a look @Amazon warehouse
