If I buy an electro-acoustic guitar, my question is: How do I quantize or to secure it in time, because it is very difficult to make time unquantized, I use Sonar x3. I await your prompt response.
    :dunno: :dunno:

In midi quantize is easy, but when audio is a real acoustic guitar? How is quantized?

Mmmmmh. I don't think you can do that unless you move bits and pieces manually. There might be a tool that does it. Once I saw my producer use some tool to chop, stretch, squash and align peaks to beats, but the result was really artificial-sounding. I can't remember what it was called though.

Let us know if you find anything!

if the guitar is strummed it should be easy. Accoustic guitar has pretty sharp transients. I just dont know sonar, but in studio one, ableton, no problem

Studio One is perfect for this kind of things, google bend tool for more info (it's like ableton warp but much easier)

    @ Musictyros5,

Sorry... but my answer here could be very disappointing to you due the main object of your Request, but why to want to 'quantize' an Instrument that, by essence, will be played by an 'human being', and even more, that makes the 'charm' of a played Electro-Acoustic Guitar (Electro, or simply Acoustic). It's precisely the 'imperfections' of the Guitar Player(s) that make it(them) sound with 'feeling', 'soul',... (name it as you want !). *yes*
For years, most of the 'MIDI' Songs (for Guitars) that were played back by 'machines' were precisely criticized, in some sense, for their lack of 'feeling', because they sounded 'too mechanically' ! *yes*

Nevertheless, I can understand your Request as to be secure and accurate to play 'in time' with your Music, isn't ?
In this case, I suggest you to use a 'Metronome'. Most of the DAWs have one that you can set (--> 'options') within an 'Audio Track' (you can even, in some cases, set an 'Audio Track' only for that purpose) to 'monitor' it (listen it), whereas it is not 'recorded' (in real time) during your Session(s). *yes*
This way, you can try to play your Guitar in the most accurate way according to the Tempo of the Song(s), then when your 'recording' is done, you can listen it to hear the result, and if it doesn't satisfy you, you guesss... another 'take' again ! *yes* That's the 'cruel' task of all the 'human' players... *yes*

Flex in Logic and PT. Warp in Ableton Live, Cubase, etc.
I don't know what they call it in Sonar.

because it is not always right to play a musical beat, and is out of time .. then accommodated so that it requires perfect ... or it is out of time or compass :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:
