If you are looking for quality tracks to pratice mixing then click this link:
    https://www.waves.com/nashville-style-mixing-openmix-joe-west

You will need to login with your Waves account or, create a new account to download the session.

BTW.. This is not me promoting Waves, just an opportunity to grab quality session files and maybe some
    insight into a producer/song writer's approach.

Session is in 48kHz, 24 bit format. Files open readily in other DAWs if you do not have Pro Tools.
    Session tempo is 80 BPM.

    Happy mixing!

Enjoying playing with these tracks. Giving me an opportunity to try different plugins as an alternative to Waves. So no. I did not enter challenge.

Also a chance to play with conversion from Pro tools to other formats.

Note: Be aware of the left & right MIX tracks. They tend to add mud to the process un-processed (at least in other DAWs).

I try to stay open to any form of music if it actually has something to say. Personally cannot listen to commercial radio for a myriad of reasons. Most omportantly, repeating play lists.

Think of it this way. As a painter, if you limited yourself to one paint brush, what you could produce has been limited from the start.
Even the greatest artist can do only so much when limited.

    Happy tracking & mixing!

Okay for first attempt at demo. From my end on speaker system, mix could use more balance with instruments.
Also BGV could be brought forward some with some clarity & less high mid on main vocals.

Played flat through Aimp & then added EQ preset used for music podcast. Sounded a smidge better.

Keep in mind, that is what this all about. Improving your mixing chops using material you normally would not be exposed to.

    Happy tracking & mixing!

I understand fully, but whenever I hear anything from that Genre, I cannot get the thought of Line Dancing out of my head, It's the most embarrassing cheesey dance of all time, and watching it turns my stomach.

    You are correct sir!

Most genres of music leave much to be desired. Luckily there exist enough gems to keep curiousity peaked.

  12. Yes, the vast majority of any genre is like silty water...you goota let it sit a while and until the shit settles to the bottom. When the water clears you can see to the other side of the container.

I gave it a try SLS, I really did, but I still found it painful to endure.

I'll try my hand at this. If you are into EDM, mixing from quality acoustic sources can be a nice challenge to take up. At the end of the day, only your mixing chops will benefit. As for me, I'll enjoy this. I just saw the first couple of minutes of the video and I liked it. I'll try to produce a mix before watching and comparing with anyone else's.

thank you, @quadcore64 a lot for the heads up.

Thanks for thanks...I try & contribute where I can.

I am working on a mix in latest MixBus32C using only native plugins & built-in EQ/Dynamics to start & hopefully finish.
Very stable. Not one crash or hipcup. I am finally ready to purchase for sure.

Nashville product being mixed on a Nashville product. Go figure...
