Yo, I hope someone can help me with this.
I've got my DAW audio running through a virtual bus on my UAD console, same with my audio from windows etc. I did this in order to A: record my system audio & B: put a limiter on there, so whenever I get some feedback audio error/time bomb/whatever, I don't get my ears and speakers shattered.
Now to my problem: The limiter I use for this is the Precision Limiter, when I put it on the master in my DAW it limits everything going above 0, as you'd expect. Now when I put it on the virtual bus on the console, it doesn't limit anything, but it stops the audio from clipping, this can be seen on the meter in the console and on my apollo x8. So it just seems to turn the volume down to 0, but it doesn't actually limit, which is not what I want. When I apply 1db of gain in the limiter and run audio through it that's too hot, it just limits that 1db. I also do this on an aux bus on a USB apollo from a friend - where I want to run audio from the DAW and a live mic through it - to hit the limiter before it goes into the live venues' mixer; same problem.
Anyone got a clue on what I need to do in order to get the result I'm going for?
    Thank you so much.
