There are different levels of popularity. Popularity which comes from deep respect (Positive type of popularity) and popularity which comes from foolishness (Negative one)
Honestly, if you for instance, artists like Eminem, the dude fought the whole HipHop in the beginning of his career. Like he dissed everybody and likewise everybody dissed him. But he believed in himself and worked hard. Now the fu*king public says, "He is Eminem!!!". *uck popularity, be yourself.

P.S : I forgot to mention there is one another way to become popular and make popular songs. If you have noticeable amount of dollars a.k.a you are a rich bi*ch, you can buy any advertising company, media and news. Guess what! you become Taylor Swift. Congratz.
