Though you could call plenty of phenomenons illusions or trickery like the mentioned shepherd tone.

Any note transposed up or down by octaves is sonically way closer to the original note than any other pitch.
That's what our psyche tells us, but there is no real objective basis for it besides our perception.

We fatigue our ears faster when we hear smashed transients from inappropriate limiting, that's certainly a psychoacoustic phenomenon.
