Great for vocals, guitars, bass, drums, and whenever a classic 1970s-style FET compressor is needed. PSP FETpressor contains everything you’d expect from a FET compressor: an internal side chain high pass filter to control amount of low frequency pumping, smoothly adjustable compression ratio, ability to select which channel to process, and a link switch. This compressor also contains a dry signal blend for parallel compression. I just tried the demo.
It's really beautiful, it does exactly what they say and It's really musical and powerful even at fastest attack.
Until now, psp oldtimer me was my default compressor but I guess this new one will replace it.

 

PSP (almost) never disappoints. Will demo this for sure.

 

A lot of people on gearslutz forum describe this plugin as:
Either close to original hardware 1176
Or very close to 1176
Or not so close to 1176, but much better than Slate 's, T-Racks, Waves etc emulations.
Or a bit better than 1176 because of sound and some advantages and price.

This is one of the latest compressors which is considered as top notch. Also black rooster audio ones.
And yummy yummy Sonimus TuCo, a tube compressor....
Slowly but DSPs getting better and better...

 

Not again another "true 1176" XD.
It is probably a nice pluging. But every single emulations says sounds like the hardware !!!

I hope you guys know there are revision A B C D E F G H LN (god knows what else) of the 1176. Every single Hardware revision sounds slightly different.
So saying that this one sounds more like the "real hardware" is hillarious. It can sound good or bad. But not more like the hardware. Cause there are so many different sounding hardware 1176.

 

Both this and the Black Lion are superb units. They rate up there with the Warm WA76 that I use to track. They sound real and respond just like a 76. It would be nit-picky to try to split hairs and compare the hardware vs. the software in an exact one to one relationship in regards to the many different revisions that are out there, but if your captured signal sounds bigger, better and more wondrous than it did raw through the microphone, putting it into a strict category is just a waste of energy. These software emulations rock from A all the way to Z. We are all lucky suckers to be able to have and to hold.

 

I don't get the hype. It's a nice compressor, but doesn't stand out in the sea of 1176 emulations (or in general, tbh).

Haven't thought to try it...yet. I know just the place though.

 

Almost three o clock in the morning and testing this beast.I am severely impressed.Love it.
