    PSP 2445 Reverb Plugin

PSP 2445 is a reverb processor plug-in (VST, AAX and RTAS for Windows; AudioUnit, VST, AAX and RTAS for Mac OSX) inspired by two legendary early digital age reverberators: the EMT® 244 and the EMT® 245. PSP thoroughly researched how to bring the specific features of those simple, yet very musical sounding reverbs to life as a plug-in. We then improved from the originals with a handy set of parameters to control details of the sound and mix the reverb not available in the original hardware. The PSP 2445 is capable of processing using one selected engine or both of them simultaneously.

PSPaudioware updates PSP 2445 to v1.1.0 and launches re-intro offer

PSPaudioware has updated PSP 2445 to version 1.1.0, adding the possibility to control the reverberator's modulation depth.

Most algorithmic reverberators have some inherent modulation—sometimes noticeable, sometimes not. This is because the complexity of algorithmic reverbs is considerably simplified from an actual studio or hall environment. This is reflected in the number of resonances, or the pattern and mechanical character, of reverb tail reflections. To deal with these limitations, modulation is added to spread resonances and smooth out a tail pattern. Sometimes you may want this modulation to be obvious on tracks, other times you may not, so PSP provide a parameter that will lessen or exaggerate the modulation in PSP 2445. The lower the modulation the more synthetic, resonant and grainy the reverb is however chorusing is less noticeable. The higher the modulation level is set the less periodic the reverb tail is and is more blurred at the expanse of exaggerated chorusing effects.

    PSP 2445 RE-intro offer
Until the 28th of February 2016 you can buy PSP 2445 at the special re-introductory price of $99*. Starting from the 1st of March 2016 the regular price of $129* will be applied (* all prices exclude taxes).

    Here and there.
PSP audioware has adopted a new copy protection system.
Maybe that's the reason why the last R2R release failed to work as full software!?
With their launch of PSP 608 MD (Multidelay) they stated it officially.

    1.3.0
    Changes:
    • Added Routing switch under the flap. This switch lets you select between standard mono to stereo processing, stereo to stereo and dual mono processing for situations in which you need this kind of flexibility. Please note that in the stereo to stereo configuration, the most stereophonically correct configuration is with 244 set to II - I and 245 set to I - II channel configurations. Additionally, when using dual mono configuration the upper position of both channel configuration switches results in the sum of two outputs from each engine going into each of output channels thus a dense reverb result while the lower position of switches provides only single channel of each engine to each of plug-in's output channel thus a sparse, more relaxed reverb tail. In all three modes the Width control works the same way allowing you to get a narrowed stereo or a mono reverb on the plug-in's output.
    • Hint bar added.
    • PACE authorization system (a hardware iLok dongle is NOT required).

I love it -- I will definitely have to track this down somehow. I'm an old-school reverb junkie, and so far, many of these emulations don't sound that great to me. When I finally break down and get a UAD 2 card, the Lexicon emulation is on my short list. PSP's EasyVerb sounds pretty great, but not necessarily like any particular hardware reverb. I'm intrigued to try this one out.
