i have a pair of ATH-M50X

something happened and sounds like a kick are barely audible

they sound weird

i was always connecting in straight to laptop i can't remember having this issue....i rarely used them and they are new

SOLVED - the wire connecting to the headphones for some reason it can go a bit outwards and inwards and i pushed it inwards and it works...no idea whats the use of that!! i don't think it comes straight off, need to read into it to understand. thanks

 

its all fine now, i was just wondering, do you know if i have any disadvantage when i connect these headphones into the laptop directly as opposed to an audio interface? just checking if this is something i need to check later on or if the result will be the same

You didn't push the jack far enough into the socket and heard Side channel only.

 

I was under the impression you were talking about the jack that goes into the headphone. If you mean the 3.5mm jack plug that goes into the laptop? my original advice wouldn't be necessary.

Those cans work fine without an audio interface.
