I tried to install both versions but with no luck. V.R. version is on the first pic, actually installed, but won't run, when i try to open it, it shows me this error on the photo. The second pic is of the r2r version, it doesn't let me even install it, some weird message is showing. I don't get it, any thoughts folks?

What version of windows are you running?

Maybe an install/update of ALL visual C++ libs might fix it:

Generally, if you're looking for help with a software issue it's best to provide details about your system, specifically which version of Windows you're using is usually the most important but the more detail about your system the better. Also which version of Cubase are you trying to install? Again, the more detail the better.

I haven't installed the latest version of the R2R Cubase but looking at the error message posted by the OP it looks to me like there is an issue between UltraISO and the installer - I'd try either mounting the ISO using another program or copying the contents of the mounted ISO on to your hard drive and running the installer from there.

 

problems like this occur usually when something in the OS has not been disabled or is triggering the anti-warez garbage present and active in the OS by default. Make certain junk like "defender A/V" and "software protection services" etc, are completely disabled. also make certain the target machine is NOT connected to the internet.

That said. If this is win10, it has the ability to mount ISO images NATIVELY. I have used it and it works very well. simply right click on a .ISO file and look at the context menu - there should be a "mount" command available if the optical drive services are active. As was mentioned previously copying the contents of the .ISO image to a system folder would not be a bad idea, but if there are OS services activated that are acting against you it wont matter much until all that junk is found and deactivated.

Also FYI, the newer versions of WINRAR can uncrate .ISO files with the greatest of ease as well and will also tell you if there is corruption in the archive.

 

Hello. I am having an issue with both Cubase versions.
When I finish installing everything I just double click Cubase12.exe but nothing happens, not even the start-up picture of Cubase 12 appears, just the mouse of my Windows with the blue circle (loading somthing) for a few seconds and nothing else (this happens with both V.R. and R2R versions).
I have a legit windows 10 updated to the last version, I have checked for updates in windows update and everything is good and updated.

I have installed everything that was necessary according to the R2R text file instructions, I have run the scf/ scannow tool and already repaired some things.

And still nothing.

So I checked the CrashDump files that cubase 12 genereates when crashing. Here is the last one using the Windbg software:

According to this thread from Steinberg this helps at tracking the VST or plugins that may be causing the crash, but it doesn't show any thirdparty software in my crash report (kinda expected since Cubase doesn't even show the "scaning vsts" thing nor the initial Cubase 12 picture).

So I am very lost, I have tried all of these and have installed both versions and still nothing. I also installed Cubase 5 and Cubase 6.5 (just to get the ASIO Full Duplex driver) and they open just fine, I already desinstalled them (although it shouldnt be neccesarry since in another PC I have I have installed Cubase 5, 6.5 and 12 and I dind't have any problem).

Do you know where else I should look at to keep trying to solve this? I appreaciate all your help!

 

You have an Nvidia GeForce GPU? nvwgf2umx.dll module is either cause or symptom of some other problem. NV is listed all over in your crash dump.

Did you update GPU drivers recently, or already trying to fix this? https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/

 

Oh man you are right! This laptop has an NVIDIA 960M and turns out it was no updated, never imagined GPU was messing up with Cubase 12.
