hi guys

I have installed w10 (64bits) on my computer.
then ...

first problem
- Studio one 2 didn't recognize kontakt which was installed in D:\VST
other vsts in this same folder were recognized ( ex : omnisphere, engine2 )
It shows kontakt only if I install it in C:\VST

i don't understand why

second problem
- Some libs disappear once loaded with "add library"
When I add some libraries in kontakt, it seems it's working till I relaunch kontakt, the library disappears
it happens with cinematic strings2, Signal and some others...
I didnt have this problem before ... and these libs have official nicnt ( not customised)

this is what i have noticed :
the libs which disappear are loaded without any prompted msg by service center

I should see this msg :



and they don't appear here :




These libs u can see on the second screenshot don't have problem .


any ideas?

maybe if someone sends me for example Signal.nicnt , i can check if mine is corrupted or something.
or what if i add myself the k2lib line in the register??


EDIT1 : example for signal, i have replaced the files (but samples) but still same problem

EDIT2 : I tried to add the line in the register, but when i load signal, it asks Signal_info.nkx

How did u install Win 10? Was it an upgrade or a fresh install? Strange that Kontakt not recognised Probably something to do with registry issues or something along the lines of moving the .dll after initial install. I'm guessing u are using unlocked Kontakt? If it was initially installed in D:\VST then reg entry created as location being there yet u say it shows up when installed in C:\VST. You need to check reg entries & also manually change them in registry editor to location they installed now then they will appear

i.e hit windows key & R, run regedit, navigate to computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NATIVE INSTRUMENTS\"library name"

Check that the ContentDir registry key letter matches the install location of your library i.e should read the same could be anything like

F:\Komplete 10 Ultimate\Abbey Road 70s Drummer Library\

Manually modify the drive location of the registry key to the location where the library actually installed and it shouldn't disappear any more.

AS for Kontakt not showing up

Navigate to registry location

Computer \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Kontakt 5

modify installDIR registry key from D to C and Check if it shows up. Also check & change installVST64DIR etc & for x86 if necessary.

KEEP A BACKUP or location note SO U CAN CHANGE BACK IF it goes wrong. Sounds like that sort of problem.

ALSO check to see whether u have any OLD WINDOWS installation files left behind that could be causing problems and check in Service centre as to the installation directory of the .dll.

I have made a clean install of w10 after a formatage.
studioone2 and kontakt were installed for the first time, so everything was clean
yes I use kontakt unlocked
so theorically, the registry is clean also

I have installed kontakt in C: but only the dll files (plugins) were in D:
(in my previous windows (8.1) it worked like that

- the the ContentDir path is correct in the registry about the libs which don't show up
it's exactly where they are.

there is no old windows files , it's not an update I did, but I installed w10, original iso from microsoft website.

When I load signal , after adding it in kontakt, it s working fine.
but as I said, it disappears when i load kontakt again or as plugin in the sequencer which is a problem coz the project can't be loaded properly.

I really think there is a problem with service center

From the registy :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NATIVE INSTRUMENTS



HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\NATIVE INSTRUMENTS



I was thinking about the administrators rights also
Complicated to explain, but make long story short :
the other hardisks containing my pics, videos and librairies still recognize my previous administrators account
for some files i had to take the adminstrators rights
but it seems it was not the problem

So if I get it right u now have Kontakt installed on C? Where is the signal Library located On drive D?

You can change the library location & sometimes there are problems with the chelmport files being misconfigured & u have to delete them. Also check XML files etc. Will have a look & see if can find anything out.

you can delete the two K5DbChelmport reg entries and try & reload and it may be there or

even sometime delete the whole registry key ie

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Native Instruments\Library Name ie Signal and reload and maybe it will stay there

 

Kontakt is installed on C, it's only the dll folder that I have changed
it was not working with my sequencer when kontakt 5.dll was on D:
but workong when the dll was on C:

U know what, I have reformated my comp and install w10 ..
and for some reasons now it's working about the libs problem
(i won't bother with the reason why dll is not recognized on D: )

i really don't know what was wrong ... and i don't want to waste time and yours , so I restarted everything

it s working now...

Just try to install NI Service Center...it works
