Just bought the Komplete Kontrol S Mk3 however Idk what Native Instruments did with the new version. Im running Komplete Kontrol 3.0.3 bobdule. Native Instruments seemed to have changed the hardware interface with the MK3 keyboards. They added something called the Hardware Connection Service. When using the new komplete kontrol it works for a while but then after a few hours it seems to connect to the internet and check for an update and contact native access.

It says Please open native access to update your Komplete Kontrol and/or Hardware Connection service to continue using your Kontrol S Mk3 keyboard.

If you were to close the DAW create a new project with new komplete kontrol instances this error would go away only to come back again after a few hours. The interface with the keyboard also goes into standard MIDI Mode.

Since neither above post mentions using your firewall and hosts file to block the device and NI software from accessing the internet, that is the first thing I would do.

I have an MK2 on Mac, so blocking their "hardware connection service" is all I can suggest. I really doubt their software *must* try to go and "get updates", because noone could ever use the controller without a computer. It probably detects internet first. If you use 0.0.0.0 in your hosts file, when it attempts to connect outward; your firewall may see the application trying to connect via/to 0.0.0.0.
Make sure you have any "report usage statistics" options off also.

the old Komplete kontrol used a keygened license. so a legit license don't match and ask to activate
the last one don't care about license, so it is allways activated, even with a legit license, downloaded when you open native access.

no license used is legit friendly
you don't need to cut anything and can use native access normally.

the fixed Komplete kontrol only enable to use it without NI account
if you have a legit license, all you need is a fixed Kontakt. it is not conflictual.

Their was a new firmware update recently. From what you're saying I think it wants you to update the MK3

+
- Komplete Kontrol bob dule version
-> then download Native Access, connect the MK3, then do what is asked
-> Play?
