When I try to extract the content to a new folder on my desktop, the extraction process completes, but there is nothing in the folder. What am I doing wrong? Win 10, intel i3 processor. Thank you for any advice.

 

If there is absolutely NOTHING in the folder, then it sounds like you extracted a password protected archive with the wrong password. (But the extraction software should tell you that)

Another possibility is that you have some security software (virus protection) that is deleting the output of the archive because it suspects it to be malware.

What *exactly* are you extracting (file name)? How are you extracting it (which extraction software)? Where did you get the file you are trying to extract?

Just to pre-empt one possibility, are you talking about the self-extracting installer? For example: KontaktPortable_v851.exe ?

Once you have this file, you simply run it and it extracts all its components to the folder you chose to place your portable Kontakt installation.

Native Instruments Kontakt 8 v8.5.1 PORTABLE-vkDanilov is the one. I'm following the uploaders' instructions explicitly and the extraction process runs and completes. I've created a new folder in different places in my computer each time I've attempted to extract, but there continues to be nothing in the given folders even though the program says it completed the task. I've also turned off my anti-virus program. I've tried several times with the same result. This is really weird. The program has a self-extractor, but maybe I should try using another app, like Winrar.

 

Solved! The extraction program in the download file didn't work, but Winrar did the trick. Yahoo!
