i made a screen name last yr called Protools 12 , and people said jumping the gun don't you think? !!! apparently No

 

Protools is probably the only DAW witch made me uninstall it in less than one week.
And i tested all the market. A simple stereo interlaced import was a mess. I don't even speak about MIDI controllers integration and such "modern" features.

Protools is like an old prostitute : she know for sure what she is doing...but still smell like 80's
No way, i will go the "fresh" route. Especially now she wants me to pay her new cloud/rent fee "Adobe like".

I just wish (like many ppl) it will kill Avid forever. But sadly, there are so much ppl running in circle using PT/forcing other ppl to use PT it is not going to happen anytime soon.

Sorry about this post, but PT/Avid/Dodgydesign and such really gets on my nerves

 

Well, and i thought that only Sonar will approach the new "cloud" fashion. Now Pro Tools. I won't be surprised to see the other major daws doing the same with their next versions.

Pro Tools is def old fashioned and behind in a lot of aspects of a "modern DAW" but editing audio in it is still really good and ahead of the others. Prob the best.

 

I use Pro Tools 10 and Audition as well. I can edit more effectively in Audition, but not ready to toss PT out just yet. :dancing:

 

Grab Protools 11. Rename app. Open splash screen in Photoshop and change 11 to 12.
Charge xxx$ for the upgrade. Add idiotic pay per use option and a cloud thing nobody gives a heck about.
Done.
Repeat next year.

 

Did they announce their future new PTX plugin format?
That obviously will not be compatible with anything, and Protools will not load prior versions?

Its still so messy looking.

If i could mix studio one workflow with cubase and have the quick sample drop and play of ableton id be the happiest daw owner in the world

 

The worst daw in the market. What has changed? Nothing, same GUI, no great improvements.

 

I'd would call it an update rather than upgrade.
