Tried the Studio One 5 Demo with R2R Studio One 4 keygen without success.
Waiting for a new keygen that works.

@Mezzo I saw on the sister page that some guys on the community helped to onlymoon and pirate with the tools. I know they are working hard, lets be patient.

    Edit: Told Ya'

It seems pretty solid so far. But I don't understand why there are so many files. The main installation file size is only 129MB as usual, but other files are 351MB. Are they necessary? eg) I found Ampire in S1 5 without installing it separately.

Sorry, this is a boring narrow question - but at least it's not controversial - and it is entirely about Studio One.

I found something in a very old Sound on Sound review (2013)
    https://www.soundonsound.com/techniques/studio-one-audioloops-musicloops
It is discussing loops within Studio One version 2 (very old)
    This sentence got my attention.
"Drag the audio part to the Sounds or Files tab of the Browser and — voila! — you have a new Audioloop file.
(Drag that audio part to the Mac Finder or Windows Explorer instead and you get a REX2 file.)"

I have tried to do that export to REX2 file using Studio One versions v2.6.5, v3.5.6, and v4.5.1.
It has never worked (for me) in any version.

I don't have much experience with Studio One, so I can't answer this question...
    - is that export to REX2 just a crazy mistake made by the Sound on Sound reviewer?
    - or am I just being too dumb to make it work?

Surely there are many Studio One experts reading this thread, so any answers please?
(but please don't bother saying - why would you want to do that? :))

    Cheers

WRONG!!! Olymoon and pirate had nothing to do with it. Once Presonus released a demo that could be upgraded to the Pro version. R2R did what they do.

That's true, I had nothing to do with this.
R2R mainly depends on providers who share their license so team can do reverse to revolutionise aka. R2R

What I love most is Apple force an OS upgrade with Logic and all the Windows guys lose their shit about Apple forcing upgrades on end users. Presonus force an OS upgrade for Studio One to Windows 10 as Windows 7 isnt supported and no one says a word :bleh:

i just downloaded the new version and trying to figure out the new features (not the fx though)

    and i have serious question
on v 3 and v4 the velosity faders are located just above the pattern section and theres an arrow where
you can lift up and down ,on version 5 i dont see it ,how to find the velocity ?

Edit : never mind ,found it ,its too small mark ..kinda looked like letter M written by a child :woot:
but its velocity mark anyways to musician eyes
its located above midi botton ,i clicked it and theres the velocity area

You clearly know that Microsoft has discontinued Windows 7. How do you expect Presonus to keep supporting it? They are not forcing you to do anything.

No one is stopping you from using v4 on Win7.

Thanks for quoting half my post which actually misses all the context.

My point being the double standards where the Apple haters usually invade every thread bitching about Apple forcing OS upgrades for new version of Logic (or other software), whereas not shouting about the same thing when it's done to them. The mass of complaints for example for Apple removing 32-bit support with Catalina is another one.

To clarify though as an ex-developer I completely agree with their approach and forcing people to get with the times - I just find the double standards amusing.

Are you trying to change the topic of this thread to Windows Vs OSX ?

Please keep this kind of childish remark for Facebook.

Does anyone managed to make studio one 5 working on mac. On sister site someone said that the included windows keygen is working on mac, but using it, got invalid license.

If you're on Mac, why not just use Logic Pro X, it seems to be very popular among professionals and the logical Mac alternative to Pro Tools, I've always thought Studio One was geared more towards Windows users...imho

Uhmmm, is this a reason to keep the old v. 4.x? Really? For a plugin with a discutibile graphic user interface? No more serious reasons?
What about the cpu friendly and stability of the old v4?

Yeah, I've got a few occasionally used plugins that will only run if S1 4 is only in compatibility mode with Windows 8. Since 5 doesn't run in Windows 8 I can't run S1 5 in compatibility mode with Windows 8 at all and those projects crash.

i upgraded it last week anyways because i was interested to put the new features in action
..they are all good and the i do have high end pc so i didnt see any cpu related issues
and its stable so far ,even ran old plugins without issues so far

( you are right i shouldnt avoid the whole package because i dont like 1 thing about it )

besides there are plenty of better FX plugins than the ones from S1 which i m currently using
(from fabfilter and valhalla bundles) and im already on first project (making the first baby with v5  )
