Things are moving and that's for sure good for end users. I'm very glad Presonus realized to move (improve) things about CPU consumption.

May be it's because you've enabled the "low latency for instruments" in Options > Audio Setup > Processing (or by clicking the two "Z" buttons in the console). If you don't, then you will notice a better performance.

And how will you recover instruments or FX's if you don't want to undo in the same time all changes made after their deletion?

??? trash was useful... and that chord function in midi... how about adding all sorts of chords... let us customise own chords... piano roll still needs improvements... the autosave feature uses useless resources and it would need to be rethinked in another way... a colored small message as reminder to save would be nice... because when u use autosave on a old rig it fills it up with droputs...

Load some AA plugins and report back with the results.

i admit it, ableton may have the workflow i love the most, but in terms of updates it sucks.
S1, FL, Reaper, even Cubase and Logic push updates, while Ableton releases another and another BS updates, like changing the light behavor on Push or other minor stuff :(

maybe i should give S1 a try? has it a legacy LFO and how are the stock plugins like Reverb, Delays?, other crazy stock plugins?

In my small opinion the stock plugins are really not something I look forward when I open S1, though new fat channel xt is spot on. But you can't beat ableton and logic stock plugins in my opinion. I do like bitcrusher and pro eq from s1 but delay and reverb I would never use. That's my opinion only so others migth disagree.

This 3.5 update seems a bit blah overall, at least it was free, but users are reporting much more stable S1 with AA Acqua's, but not much CPU improvement like they claim. Maybe one day Presonus will take the CPU issues seriously...... until them we gotta do what we gotta do.

I've always like the look of Sonar but never really tried it. I probably should considering I seem to have a fondness of Cakewalk stuff with Z3ta+2 and the LA2A emulator.

O yeaaaa.... Did a test and the CPU updates are spot on... U have to play with the settings to find the right fit for your system... Also, if you dont see an immediate difference its your system. "you can put a ford engine in a Porsche and it will look the same, however the performace will still suck.."

In a good way? How is it for MIDI-centric stuff?

Good but not optimal. Cubendo is still the king in this area.

Guys, since S1 doesn't have a simple heal separation function, that every daw I tried have (Cubase's glue heals the separation, Pro Tools has it, my main Daw Reaper has it), another question I would like to ask you is how do you horizontally scroll in S1 ?

To me Shift+Scroll is super slow, I need a lot of time to get from point A to point B, much slower then other DAWS. I tend to like draging left right in the ruler's space, but sucks that if you accidentally drag up a bit it starts to zoom horizontally.

In Cubase I use the middle click, hand tool the most for screen panning, I made Reaper behave the same way, and I could live without hand tool, but S1's scrolling pace is slowing me down while editing.

I was thinking about other solution, to edit in Reaper and mix in S1, but it's stupid...

I like the Melodyne ARA integration, I need it a lot, that's what I miss in Reaper, and I like this new fat channel, would like to try to do a mix with it, I guess it's not CPU heavy,

Ex Live guy here[is that means that I'm a zombi?]. I'm using S1 as my main, but I also using Live by rewire, bc I like some stuff from it and I spent a lot of time in this DAW. My dream is some monster-mixture of S1 and Live|Bitwig
