Well, had to tune out of the livecast ... but that is actually a nice feature palette. What I saw at the beginning was that remote-control feature. Hmm, that could be very useful in the studio.

    Oh before I forget:
@Spacely: ewww GUI is still ugly
    nah, it actually isn't :)

This mix fx thing, which supposedly replaces the entire mixing engine, will totally finish the guys from Harrison Mixbus.

That's exactly why they keep bragging about on forums, you know, that Mixbus isn't just a channel strip, that it's a complete mix engine, that it works on a way deeper level, etc...

Now Studio One will be able to do console emulation on the same level as Mixbus, and more, since Presonus will actually partner with extremely competent developers like Slate, Softube and Acoustica Audio to develop all sorts of deep level console and analogue emulations.

Really, I can't wait to see what's coming. I'm a big fan of console emulations and I really think this feature will bring a lot of great possibilities.

Yamaha's music division has been in deep shit for about 35 years now!!!!!!!! That's why they keep buying companies... with the Yamaha Corporation financing their buyouts. Eventually though, the parent company will give up on their music division and bury the samurai sword in its soft, yellow underbelly...

Wow, includin Acustica Audio too, i love and bought some of their plugins. I'm wondering how they're going to manage the CPU usage which is very high on Acustica, but the sound quality is top notch, over Slate, especially for EQs.

Yeah, quite frequently. It's not my #1 DAW, that'd be Samplitude, as I do a lot of score- and Midi-work and the Editors fit my needs/workflow better.

But for anything pure audio, and especially when I have to colaborate with my go-to-mastering guy, S1 is the DAW I chose. And, of course, as there is no Magix on OSX, S1 is the main DAW in such colab-configs too. I have to say that in Windows I'm not so fond of S1 (CPU usage) but other than that, I think it's a pretty damn fine DAW. But I'm a DAW-whore and also do my work in Cubase e.g. that I have been using ever since Atari ST times (or "24" as it was called back in the day).

I was also watching the telecast and these features caught my eyes. I think this update was mostly to compete with Pro Tools rather than Cubase. From the beginning different artists or mix engineers were telling how they been using PT for the whole life and how they are hooked on S1 now because of it's xyz features.
Sadly still nothing about CPU usage.
    Sadly still nothing about midi.
    But still an impressive update.

    Thats interesting.
So you probably really know all the details, the in and outs of Cubase.
    Im also on cubase,since 5,now 8.5 pro.
S1 is nice, though wouldnt trade it with Cubase for a million dollars, but for small projects its A-OK and im glad S1 exists, competition is always a good thing.
