For our friends in this community that suffered the pain and sadness of losing loved ones, family, friends, I am really sorry to hear about your loss and I hope you heal and come out of it stronger very soon.
These times remind of the horror that I've experienced in my life running from my country when I was 9 because of the war to live in a prison in another country and leaving some family members behind due to the military operations that was taking place at the time. I don't wish that for my worst enemies. But this wasn't the worst of it. My oldest brother was executed by the government a few years prior to our departure from the country. He was only 27 years of age. His life was the price to only express his views of the government and the injustice it was carrying against the people.

I totally agree with you. This is the problem that many people don't realize. Some people do realize but choose not to say anything to avoid harassment.
This is used by all world governments, no exception, that's why I have hard time believing any of them. I even stopped voting for a long time because I don't want to have a share in bringing a murderer and a thief to power and have innocents blood on my hands. It's unethical to do so when you know that they are all the same.

After participating in this thread and reading various news I actually changed my, too hastily drawn, opinion that religion is behind what's happened. This goes for the 9-11, too. It is obvious that it's our western politics to blame for all this. In other words we brought it all upon ourselves. I wonder if any of our politicians has enough guts to say that! Can you understand that these people are only doing their best to defend their land and make us understand that they won't give up their fight? Ask yourself that. Put yourself into their position. They fight for their freedom and their land, and hundreds of them are dying daily for the cause! The only solution if we want to end the terrorism is to leave them alone.

Plain and simple: *leave them alone* and the problem with terrorism will go away. Refugees problem, too. That's the only solution that will work for real and not cost more lives.

But we all know we won't do that, eh? We just can't leave those oil fields alone.

I think it's important to look for several sources and points of view, in order to have a global view of events and a better base of reflection to forge its own opinion. It doesn't mean that people take every news like objective truth.
I think and hope than most of us on this forum are smart enough to distinguish between bullshits and bigger bullshits.
Confronting propagandas each others is a good thing to do, more than never question them IMHO.
