This tile 'All is not as it seems' shows one of the pleasures of having a flat surface to decorate. In this case a white high temperature glaze @ 1300°C goes through several added lower temperature firings @ 800°C (red heat) to burn the liquid gold and mother of pearl into the slightly tacky glaze surface. Very durable and the gold is REAL, but very thin
