The only timebomb i faced in all these years was with TSEX50 V2.4.8, which shuts the whole DAW down after 1.5/2 hours.
Also sometimes when you open the plugin, it just doesnt work and when you try to open it, the DAW crashes.

Crazy that there are timebombs with extreme loudness issues.

Yes, I faced this issue exactly once. I don't remember exactly, but it was probably the older FabFilter Twin plugin. I was messing around with it and left my DAW running in the background while doing something else. After about an hour or so, it suddenly started blasting white noise loudly, and the interface said something along the lines of "This is a cracked plugin". Needless to say, I was pretty startled.

I remember reading somewhere, don't know where, that apparently the DAW or the computer going into hibernation or a kind "rest" state can cause this. I don't know the technical details, but maybe the RAM allocation can change if a program hasn't been used in a while and is in the background. If something like that happens, apparently the license file cannot be accessed anymore for a short moment, which triggers the legit software to assume that it's cracked, or something along those lines.

Anyway, that this can happen to legit buyers made me not want to invest in Fabfilter, and I would not even use k'd versions of them. Plenty of other good developers around with decent plugins, and even if those aren't at the tippity top, the alternatives are more than sufficient to get any job done that I would want them to do.
