polystyrene sheets

    hey guys i was wondering if big sheets of polystyrene would have a similar effect as acoustic treatment would, the polystyrene is 40mm thick and spans the length of the wall. was thinking about getting some as i can get it for pretty much nothing but thought i mite ask before doing it

    it not a good idea lol ...if you really want to stay cheaper than cheap, use soft blankets ...just try :wow:

    No. Get thicker curtains/drapes and hang them corrugated 10cm/4" from the wall, hanging from the ceiling down barely touching the floor.
    The air between the drapes and wall will work as excellent absorbers.

    Then get/make QRD or skyline diffusors, basstraps and maybe some Helmholtz resonators (for those really troublesome resonances). :)
