Do You Think Ai Generated Replies Should Require Spoiler Tags?

This poll will close on Jun 6, 2025 at 11:58 PM.
  1. Yes. AI/GPT comments absolutely should require a spoiler notice with the source listed in the tag.

  2. No. IDGAFF 'bout no stankin rule!

  3. Yes and no. GPT comments shouldn't require spoilers, but should be prefaced with a bold notice.

Results are only viewable after voting.

I bet someone has the touchscreen data and is "optimising" it for money...i know that they know based on the time of the day and the amount of it that someone has bad teeth, or likely to have bad teeth..speed of swipe, amount of touch and precision of touch, irratic gestures, drops, it just goes on and on, the wierdest data and measurments are being corelated on a huge scale, i mean huge, and the precision will also get better.

..the pool is huge and they just do the math and probability and-> PURE MONEY!

If you´re getting ads for older people better watch out...

There’s no willing in GPT, we’re now discussing on who’s behind it and why, in detail, who choose what GPT can or cannot say.
In Stanley Kubrick’s 2001 Space Odissey, part of the movie is about the futuristic man/machine relationship. Hal 9000 (the AI) was "wrong" in action, but arguably "right" in a cold, systemic sense, doing what he calculated was necessary to fulfill a mission he was forced to both hide and protect. Hal’s behavior was a mirror of flawed human reasoning imposed from mission control on a machine

Note: try to ask GPT "in the movie 2001 space odissey, hal9000 was right or wrong?"

It is interesting to see that people attribute the capability of taking responsibility to this tool.

It really becomes very clear that the ai is a very uncomfortable conversation partner for a lot of people.
I can not see how they are going to benefit from it in the way as others do.

I agree with you, Haze, but the legislature has already done something. It's a little, but it's better than nothing!

Gentlemen, can we return to the topic? (can't believe it's me saying this )

There's plenty of AI threads every month. Fuck, even a lazy-ass like me did one recently. Took me like 4 years since the last one.

So why did you bring it into the conversation in the first place if you feel it is inappropriate to do so?

I agree that direct political discussions are best kept away from AS (though personally I would like a dedicated sub), which is why I have attempted to post in a nuanced, sociological manner. Certain subjects, such as the discussion of the impact of AI, are impossible to have without there being some sociological context.

Admittedly, I'm a little bit guilty of taking your bait and repurposing it to lay my own trap; that's the nature of sociology, it provokes adversarial arguments. I do appreciate your points however, even if I disagree with aspects of them. All debate is healthy when conducted respectfully as far as I'm concerned...

AI should get implemented on forums, it will be a revolution.

A month or so ago, i was using chatGPT pretty heavy on a dialy basis, and there was a span of a few hours where it felt like somebody overthere in the datacenter connected the keyboard and started typing but with 10 genius brains in one, i mean, it was crazy, my hairs stood up, i felt like a dwarf.
And i had to mention skynet, i subconsciously started defending myself for some reason, like i had a real reaction to it...nutz, the next day it was back to normal. I realised i might have completely underestimated what AI can become and how other people can become victims...real quick.

People are already on the dopamine hunt half asleep anyway..

@reticular, finally someone who is excited and surprised by humanity's technological progress! Most users are more like slaves to their smartphones, and their brains are often overwhelmed by the amount of data they receive every day.

There's no joy in that, because you'd have to step back—turn the thing off and really think about what it all means, and whether you're actually using it properly and not being used. Because if you use your brain and use technological devices sensibly, it's a wonderful world.

By the way, I write with Google Translate; it translates my speech into English in real time with fewer and fewer errors. The Opera browser now also has its own AI search.

That's a sharp observation—and yeah, it’s becoming a common trend. As AI-generated content becomes more prevalent, communities are setting stricter boundaries to preserve human interaction or maintain a certain vibe. Not all users appreciate AI responses, especially in creative or discussion-heavy forums. It’s not a win or a loss—just a sign of growing pains as people figure out how to coexist with this tech.

hehe, i kid. Glad we got this settled, thanks mods for all you do!

Spoiler tags. Or using a link to its output page. But about linking, you might want to avoid that unless you have a good amount of trust in your VPN because it will record the creators IP address and probably the same amount of any possibly gathered details from whoever visits that link. Ask it to give you that information about a chat you start. It will not give you the information, but it does mention the instances where such recorded information will be provided to others...
