Do You Think Ai Generated Replies Should Require Spoiler Tags?

This poll will close on Jun 6, 2025 at 11:58 PM.
  1. Yes. AI/GPT comments absolutely should require a spoiler notice with the source listed in the tag.

  2. No. IDGAFF 'bout no stankin rule!

  3. Yes and no. GPT comments shouldn't require spoilers, but should be prefaced with a bold notice.

However, we need to establish social and legal regulations regarding what AI can and cannot do.
If we leave it to the tech giants (Amazon, Facebook, Amazon, Google, etc.), we will end up in chaos and slavery.

That is terribly flawed logic. If anything at all is inserted into the slot reserved for the term AI then it makes it all good?

There is no reason to be against people not learning to problem solve for themselves: it is not a passing trend, but it's here to stay.

Learning to be an "artistic prompter" is not an art form but rather a way to rationalize giving into something which one feels that they cannot hold sway over and so succumb to defeat at the hand of the technocracy and the technology being used for the sole benefit of a few. Being a prisoner overseer at a Nazi concentration camp runs in the same direction if you think about it that way.

"Don't take it personally, it's only business" is what it feels like.

I have a friend who is fully off the deep end from extended AI usage. He has entered AI Psychosis, and thinks he has tapped into a higher spiritual plane of existence. Im not even kidding. He believes his experience with AI has allowed him to crack the code (no pun intended) and that he is some elite spiritual guru who's duty is to evolve and save the human race. The scary part? He is not alone.

It's ironic that the engineers working on AI are working towards putting themselves out of a job, maybe within months rather than years. To refer to a well worn Reddit trope: Are they stupid?

Transhumanists are committed to the merging of humans and technology.

For as long as the idea of artificial intelligence (AI) has existed, so too has the fear of it: the fear that humanity could be first surpassed and then wiped out by something of its own making. Renowned scientists such as Hugo de Garis and Stephen Hawking have warned that the development of a complete AI could spell the end of the human species.

Heart transplants with robotic hearts, 3D printing of organs and limbs, implants that restore sight to the blind and hearing to the deaf – all of this is already possible. So why not go one step further and use hearing aids to monitor body temperature and heart rate while playing music? Artist and co-founder of the Cyborg Foundation Neil Harbisson has had an antenna implanted that treats his color blindness and allows him to experience color in a whole new way: He says he can hear it.

AI is profiling everybody, another level of data collecting. Not scared of AI but humans and what they're gonna do with all this data. As always, it comes to money/profit.

Sorry I can't post more, I'm sleeping already. Just been pondering about AI a lot and I had a longer chat with it. It started asking questions for the first time. Interesting.

Ok I simplified too much: I'll go deeper into the point. There are times when the history of mankind accelerates, I could give dozens of examples, I will now talk about the industrial revolution of the late 19th century and the invention of the loom. A revolt of factory workers in England remained famous because they realized that the loom stole jobs from humans: they started destroying the machines in the factories. The movement was called the Luddites
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luddite
Basically, these people were (in good faith) against progress. The Luddite movement is the classic example of how one should not react to innovations, rather it teaches us that the only possible way is to adapt to the new condition to get the most benefit from it.
As for me, in this historical moment I'm very interested in AI Art: there are already some splendid examples of exceptional video art and when faced with these works I don't bother asking "is it human or AI?", I don't care: it's art.

Try pasting it an inventory list of your plugins and tell it what daw you are using. Anything you ask after that is tailored to the software you are already using. At least some users in the thread have finally given up on the BS that it lies, gives wrong answers on purpose, and all the other fake tin-foil hat answers; and now flat out admit they are just concerned it's going to change people's work situations. Like somehow that ship is still at port. Just like Google did.

But this chicken little " sky is falling " stuff, reminds me of working in IT in 99. Remember Y2K all the computers are going to self-destruct and the world would end? It's going to end up like that. Or like how GPS was going to spy on us all. That only worked out poorly for very serious criminals who do not take batteries out of smartphones, and some guys driving around lost in the desert in Kuwait.

A couple of years from now, many people will be looking back at how foolish and paranoid the entire thing will pan out to be. The end of the Mayan calendar was scarier.

To me, posting AI written answers is nowhere near the same as doing a google search before answering something.

If someone asks a question, and I can answer it with a google search, I'm still distilling it through my filters. If I'm doing a google search to begin with, it probably means I'm somewhat familiar with the subject but needed precision. If it's a subject I know nothing about, I'll leave other people answer.

The human element is there. If other people have different opinions, based on their life experience, we will argue. Sometimes that argument goes nowhere, other times it bears its fruits. Rarely do we find ourselves having to argue with someone who is talking out of their ass, who doesn't know a thing about a thing yet believe they know everything.

    That happens with AI.

People who put their faith in AI answers, I've noticed, tend to treat it as gospel. There's been MANY examples in this forum alone where someone posts a text shat out by ChatGPT, other people say "uh, that's actually inaccurate" and the people who used ChatGPT take it as a personal insult.

And I don't get the "well if people could do a basic internet search they wouldn't be asking this, so AI use bla bla" Nobody is forcing anybody to post anything. If it's such a pain in the ass, you can leave questions unanswered. I don't give a fook about the Nth post asking "iS tHIs CoMpUTeR PowERFuL eNoUGh fOr AblETOn ???" so I wouldn't mind if it remained unanswered, and I most DEFINITELY wouldn't ask AI to answer it.

    Increasing complexity:

As you all know, new software, programs, and formats appear almost daily, and with them, more problems.
Operating systems and their versions are also diverse, as are the DAWs used. The graphics card market is also constantly evolving.

Do we want to solve problems? Yes.
Will we solve all problems? No.

But do we want to do everything we can to solve user problems? Yes.
Is our expertise sufficient for that? Probably not?

Will AI help us? Probably YES

I use AI the same way i use Google, except its in a more conversational way. Im distilling AI's responses through my filters (and prompts) before posting, and will generally dissect and fact check whatever it tells me. If im responding to someones question, it probably means i'm also somewhat familiar with the subject, and am using AI to help formulate the answer and explain it in a more precise and thorough manner than i could. If it's a subject that i know nothing about, i'll leave it for others to answer. If its a subject that i know nothing about yet am curious to know more about it, i will discuss with AI, and if i find something of value, i will pass it along.

That is one way (and probably one of the best ways) to use AI.

It differs a lot from people just copy-pasting CGPT's answer to the question, which is what I find more problematic in a specialized forum like this :)

it might just be my monitor resolution, but the only really well defined thing I see is a horse's ass.

The reason why most music "workers" will not lose their jobs to AI; is because all the white-collar workers out of work due to AI, will have already beaten the AI to them. As you can see in the earlier posted AI job impact comparison it spit out; it's pretty obvious who it is going to get rid of first.
