Absolutely, this is valid also for the washing machine, the air conditioning, internet etc.. but this is the catastrophic vision: why should we choose to voluntarily abdicate to post modern world?

one develops strong skills by not using crutches, the muscle that is used, develops, grows and strenghtens, the muscle that is abandoned, atrophies, and whithers.

Dependencies on AI, will last a generation at most, its a rug pull to wipe out those who embrace without thought "the next big thing".

A wise man learns how to make his own tools for his own purposes, for then he can replace his tool, should catastrophe or simple error or loss occur. Look around at how many "helpful technologies" have developed in the past 25 years, and consider they may actually have been invented not to be helpful, but to make the user helpless.

be careful, your choices have consequences..

as the Russian scientist, Pavlov, once observed, we are all a single breath away from suffocation. ergo what we take for granted can fail and then so do we..

yes!! so few AI's buy records, or streaming or tickets to live events, or even attend live events or buy trainers or tennis shoes, or sneakers depending on your vocabulary.

The simple fact is AI will implode all economic models and systems, its a cliff with the lemmings lined up for thousands of kilometers for their chance to jump off the cliff into the unknown and learn gravities' mercies are neither tender nor enjoyable.

AI will be a great learning experience, I just don't think it will be the lesson most people find they want after all.

I'm sure it is lying here like AI always does :guru:, but it makes most people's concerns about "their music" seem rather trivial. It's funny but maybe someday it will be adapted to see where people actually stole things in "their music" from.

does AI already do any life-saving things?
    ChatGPT said:

Yes, AI is already doing life-saving things — in real, tangible ways. Here are a few examples:

    • Medical diagnosis: AI systems like those used in radiology can detect cancer (like breast cancer or lung cancer) earlier and sometimes more accurately than human doctors. Early detection literally saves lives.

    • Drug discovery: AI sped up the development of COVID-19 vaccines and treatments. It's also finding new antibiotics — one AI system discovered a brand-new antibiotic compound that works against superbugs.

    • Emergency services: Some AI systems help prioritize 911 calls, dispatch ambulances faster, and even predict which patients are at higher risk of cardiac arrest based on hospital data.

    • Disaster response: AI helps predict wildfires, floods, and hurricanes better than traditional models, giving people more time to evacuate and prepare.

    • Self-driving car safety systems: Even though fully autonomous cars aren't perfect, AI safety features like automatic braking, lane-keeping, and collision detection in normal cars prevent thousands of accidents and deaths every year.

    • Suicide prevention: Social media platforms and mental health apps use AI to identify people at risk of suicide and connect them to help — sometimes even alerting emergency responders directly.
So yeah, not only is it happening, it’s happening across a lot of different fields already.

Humans, they are the bipeds that cover most of the earth, most of the time. They have an system whereby people (humans name for other humans, that said human does not know the proper name of) produce different goods and services and then can rent or purchase such goods and service by the efforts of their own labours either mental, physical or some combination of both.

Last week I employed Garamondo as my press secretary and he is now my proxy on all forums that I participate in. I've become quite busy lately lobbying against the infiltration of ai into our lives, separating us from the joy of human to human relationship and creative growth as artists. Thank you for your understanding.

It is true: in most cases, the so called innovations end up being just marketing gimmick. There is an obnoxious word that I hate: “gamechanger” they usually use that to add hype to new products, when I hear that, I immediately think of a scam.
I believe instead that AI in the artistic domain can bring real progress, obviously it will be our duty as composers to make AI something worth.
Let's put it this way: in 1700, Bartolomeo Cristofori invented an innovative machine called "Fortepiano" (an early piano version), but to really hear the potential of the new instrument we had to wait for composers like Liszt, Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin... The point is that AI at the moment is just a tool: It's up to the artists now to bring out the magic in AI, using it creatively.

    Let's get to work

I agree with you 1000%. But you are mixing up „artists“ with „content creators“ (to put it mildly). The latter just create entertainment at best. They are too lazy to labour over their work because they don’t understand the joy of the creative act. They just strive for a quick and simple result that grabs people’s attention because it has some kind a beat and sound familiar. They think they create art by joining ready made parts together.
At worst, they have successful as the conveyor-belt workers of the entertainment industry by being as mediocre as possible.
