I almost get the whole time this message that my plugins could not be found after loading some old projects in FL Studio 12.3. It's so weird, because I can open and use all the same plugins in a new project without any issues. But when loading some old projects my used plugins could not be found suddenly. Are these projects maybe corrupt or anything?

Does anyone maybe know why I am experiencing this and how I maybe can solve it?

    Thanks in advance!

Hi have you tryed rescan your plugins
or have you used any new R2R fl keygens in the last few weeks.

your projects should be ok eader way as ive have two errors one was over the R2R keygen
and the other was over the plugin database ,try reinstalling fl studio and make sure to tick import old settings
    so you don't lose anything.

if this don't work ill wright down a list of other things to try
its just about remaking and fixing the four fl plugin databases that it uses.

Thank you so much for the answers! I really appreciate that!

I have reinstalled it. I immediately have checked everything with a rescan aswell. I still get the same error unfortunately. I haven't used any R2R keygens for this FL version @momo

An example of what the error looks like:

As far as I know everything looks or is the same (except the layout) as like what you have @thantrax

This is how my Plugin Manager looks like right now:

    Hi If you go to
    Image-Line\FL Studio 12\Data\Patches\Plugin database
And make a backup copy frist of the full Plugin database folder so you can then mess around with it.
There is a chance some plugin files need to be updated or fixed in eader of these four folders
so fl can open the old projects again,

    Image-Line\FL Studio 12\Data\Patches\Plugin database\Installed\Effects\Fruity
    Image-Line\FL Studio 12\Data\Patches\Plugin database\Installed\Generators\Fruity

    Image-Line\FL Studio 12\Data\Patches\Plugin database\Effects
    Image-Line\FL Studio 12\Data\Patches\Plugin database\Generators

To sort this out delete all the files from inside these two folders keeping just the empty folders there.

    Image-Line\FL Studio 12\Data\Patches\Plugin database\Installed\Effects\Fruity
    Image-Line\FL Studio 12\Data\Patches\Plugin database\Installed\Generators\Fruity

Next rescan your pluging database useing a fast scan so it remakes these files again
they will all now be listed to the right folder so these are now good to use for the next step,
but if you want to you can now try to reopen your old projects,

If the projects still won't open ,open a other window to this folder
    Image-Line\FL Studio 12\Data\Patches\Plugin database\Generators

you will see that this has subfolders with all the fl plugins in them
and you will have to copy the new plugin info into these
replacing two files for each plugin in the subfolders.

The qickes way to see if this will work is copy just the new Generators info for
Toxic Biohazard thats the Toxic Biohazard.fst and Toxic Biohazard.nfo from
    Image-Line\FL Studio 12\Data\Patches\Plugin database\Installed\Generators\Fruity
    into
    Image-Line\FL Studio 12\Data\Patches\Plugin database\Generators\Synth classic

If this works and Toxic Biohazard is found when you open your old projects you can do one of two things
eader deleted these folder listed and reinstall fl again so it remakes just the fl plugins database,
or copy all the new files into the subfolders for each fl plugin you find in these whats alot more work,
    ------
    Effects
    --
    Controller,Delay reverb,Distortion,Dynamics,Filter,Flanger,Gain,Misc,Patcher,Visual
    ------
    Generators
    --
    Controller,Drum,MIDI,Misc,Patcher,Sampler,Synth classic,Synth special,Visual
    ------

    Hope this fixes it.

Thank you very much for this answer @momo

When I delete all the files from these two folders that you have mentioned and I do a fast scan after it. I see they all go back to the same two folders automatically in the end. Is that normal? About the last step I have no folder that's called synth classic? I also have only one Toxic Biohazard file that's called a channel state file.

Altough, I have noticed that it's much better now than before. So thank you momo and @thantrax for that! I keep getting the same messages while it's loading, but when I click on the plugins it will show up right now and I can use it aswell. I'm not really sure why it's still saying that they could not be found after loading. It's pretty weird.

Edit : Some old projects works indeed better, but a few aren't unfortunately.

@Nick12 yes there all ment to be remade after you run a fast scan
and are all now good to use to fix any other errors in the other folders if thats whats causing the errors,

you must also have hidden files and folders set to off
thats why you can only see one off the two files i should of said that to you.
if you google or youtube how to show hidden files
you will see the two files for each plugin when you check the folders again.
im on fl 12.5 so the folder names could of changed from 12.3 as well.

After you turn on show files
search for Toxic Biohazard in this folder
    Image-Line\FL Studio 12\Data\Patches\Plugin database\Generators
and replace the files with the new Toxic Biohazard files you just made from here
    Image-Line\FL Studio 12\Data\Patches\Plugin database\Installed\Generators\Fruity
this is just to see if Toxic opens with any of your old projects
and removes the need to try anything elace .
    P.S.
i got the same error before as well and im still not sure what caused it to
happen in the frist place ,but it you get eveything back up and running
make a other backup off your new database so you can copy the files back
    if the need arises again.

Thank you again for your answer @momo

And oh, I see. Yeah, that makes sense indeed by showing these hidden folders.

I have done what you have said. All my old projects seems to be working right now. Except three projects. But it seems that they are probably corrupt. I mean they give the same errors, but my CPU also starts to increase immediately to 100% and FL starts to freeze or to crash at the same time.

Glad to hear you got most of it sorted now,
a other way you could off tryed fix the database was to remove your full plugin database
and reinstall fl again ,but was not sure if you added all your plugins
into snapshots and sorted them for your own use in the database folder.
you would then have to sort out your own snapshots from the other fl plugins
and try not to put any old fl files back when adding files from the old to new database.

If you go to Image-Line\FL Studio 12\Data\Backup
this is where a record of your changed projects are
so there is a chance you could find a copy of them there that still work or open for you.
Its always good to keep back-up's saved as zip and keep three copys one on a other HD one on a usb stick
and one on your pc that you use and if i realy like a tune and put alot off time into it ill burn it onto WR dvd.

    Take care

@Nick12 I think the folder synths classic appears if you select the categorized option for the plugin database. There is no readable manual for this. But at least IL made some useful tutorial videos and explained it there :bleh: Not sure if this was the best move. Whatever...

And I totally agree with @momo on the Backups. There are moments when one doesn't know why Fruity did what it did, especially with the PluginDB. Last strange thing I experienced was when Fruity stopped everytime halfway through a fast plugin rescan.
So I could not find any newly installed vst anymore. (I did a full verified scan with the plugin manager a while before the fast rescan and it seems to me that somehow was the reason for the bug and something went wrong with the verified scan.)

I solved this by deleting these two folders (don't forget to backup your whole DB before)

    Image-Line\FL Studio 12\Data\Patches\Plugin database\Installed\Effects\New
    Image-Line\FL Studio 12\Data\Patches\Plugin database\Installed\Generators\New

I deleted them because I found they contained way too many plugins (usually they contain only the latest scanned plugs from last startup but at that time there were around 100 in these folders).

At the next FL restart Fruity remade the directorys by itself (magic) and everything was fine again. I could do a fast rescan again and all my previously scanned plugins where still there, so I not even needed use the backup for the PluginDB

I experienced that bug with the 12.5.1.5
I think there is one newer version out now and I read they solved a bug with the PluginDB but not sure if it was that specific one. Well, hopefully it was

Thank you very much for the answers again!

    @momo

I have found that the projects aren't corrupt happy enough. When I open it in FL Studio a few projects won't work. But when I open it through the folder of where all my projects are everything seems to be fine. Strange, but at least very glad that they aren't corrupt. I have my back-ups on a external hard drive, but imagine this hard drive will break or something. I will do what you have said. Sounds indeed like a good idea. I think everything is fine now. Thank you!

    @Mainzelman

If I am right that's kinda what I did too by following the advice from momo. Deleting folders in the installed category and then doing a fast scan after it. I thought first you never want to delete any folders right here, because all the plugins will be gone and reinstall is likely needed. But then I realize that with a new fast scan it will remake everything of course. It's probably why I am with 12.3 and not with 12.5 yet. I have heard indeed that there are some little bugs here and there. I really hope they will give an easier way to organize your plugins, because my PluginDB is a big mess at the moment. And all the folders. It just get me a little bit, yeah I don't know.
