Plugin GUIs missing clicks when keys pressed on ableton 11 Windows 10

    I have two configurations of ableton 11.0.11: on windows 7 and on windows 10.

    On windows 10, it turns out that vst plugin guis don't register mouse clicks when a note is played with the laptop keyboard. Still, the hovering over parameters is registered. I have made sure this is the same with all vsts, though not with ableton's onboard effects and instruments, and there are no such problems at all on windows 7.

    As a result, I can't tweak any parameters as I play notes.

    It looks like this has to do with windows 10, possibly some registry settings.

    Any idea how to fix that?
