    Does it sound good?
    a) Yes > no problem there
    b) No > change eq settings

He gives some advices for mixing your vocals that sound (LoL) logic but I don't like at all how the snare is too wide on its jingle at the end of the video. It sounds artificially spread, very unpleasant.

    Uh, I remember this vid.
Greg says that this is just an "exercise" and doesn't advocate it as a constant mixing technique.
The vid is about using the fader, and not relying on so much EQ.

He produces the best sounding Lo fi and retro mixes, plus his band videos are so creative.

The backlash being that somone that can play an acoustic instrument well, or sing well, or both, can and will always move people to feel all emotions, to the point of tears. Do sample packs do that?
When I'm really old and totally grey haired, not just partly!, the unfortunate kids of the future will be paying me on some 'subversive', underground webcam site to play nursery rhymes on my Wurly!
Asking me about The Great Revolution.
Of course, this would have to happen within the next 5 years before the shit that's prophesised.
    Oh well. Good to dream.

Thank you for posting this brilliant tutorial Gyro Gearloose. Lots of fresh perspectives here. Very useful, as all the contents of Greg Scott’s (House of Kush) YT channel.

This is also the first time I have noticed that there such a rich and exciting exchange in the video comments, in which Greg is heavily involved. So, the 'comments' section is also well worth browsing to find additional clarifications.

For me, only that his name is Greg, not Christopher!
This really is mixing 101 though. Use the fader first.
And the 'exercise' he talks of throughout this video is not condoning pushing up 10k just to balance out a bassy vocal; it's the principle he is showing, in order to avoid lots of unnecessary eq cuts. (Remember, he was just giving the bad vocal take with proximity effect as an example to make this work. In practice, a vocalist knows mic technique, or the engineer will position the vocalist and tell them not to move.)
But then he does say this is just an exercise to train your ears, and I totally agree.
As it will help one make better decisions.

Btw, this exercise technique doesn't work if you use too much salt in a meal and try and 'balance it out' with pepper!
    Just saying. :)

Well, all the prophecies are off-topic, but happy to talk via PM.
And either way, they all relate to many generations of word of mouth passed on to me, and as such many will probably try and action the prophecies anyway, or the prophecies are just a ploy for the agenda that has coninually been carried out cyclically throughout history.
So in a way, it doesn't matter.
But we should all do our best to get our house in order, anyway.
