Hi all, first time encountering a file without nicnt, so first time to use a generator. I make sure to check internet to solve any problems on my own, if can't, asking around/posting is my last resort...

I tried 2 versions, the maker and the maker 2 (supposedly the "upgraded" ver?) both are in bob dule's kontakt button, but finally neither worked, it's either the good old common error "unhandled exception blah blah can't write registry key", OR the nicnt is successfully created without any error window popping up BUT when i run kontakt button to add library, it still says library not found.

I noticed there's an old post of someone here facing similar problem, even bob dule himself replied, and just like bob said - most failures are caused not by the program itself but the user - i believe there's something i'm missing, which, on my own cannot notice, because i've tried what bob had suggested (to put the generator in root) but error persists. so please point it out for me if there's any mistake i made, below's what i went through in detail:

1, System is windows 11. the plugin in interest is drum fury. installed in the path D:\plugins\kontakt
It came with 2 folders, first is the drum fury itself, beautiful standard file pattern, you know, first "document" then "instrument" then "samples", just missing a nicnt for it to fully work.
second a "sample 2" expansion with tons of ncw files, i merged them all to the said drum fury "sample" file.

2, If this information helps to identify my problem: my kontakt 8 and plugins are installed in different disks, kontakt in C:\ (not so much space left) while kontakt related plugins are all stacked in D:\plugins\kontakt ------> is this the correct library's root path? Or i will start to question my very own existence.

3, Rookie mistake: the first tool i used is the nicnt maker in kontakt button, forgot to put it together with plugins (aka not in root path), so of course failed, can't write registry key.

4, Did copy paste the maker to D:\plugins\kontakt, still, error, can't write registry key.

5, Reboot laptop. nope. not gonna solve by only restarting aren't we?

6, Maybe let's just use the "maker 2", come on it has the "2" in its name so gotta be better? lol.
Delete maker, copy pasted maker 2 to D:\plugins\kontakt, company name Sample Logic, lib name Drum Fury, snpid i made up something like k00 or g89 whatever.
Honestly? i don't even know how does this id thingy work, i just watched a YT tutorial vid, like the guy's just putting whatever random combination of letters and numbers in three, so i did it just like him, anyway, snpid checked, good, click generate.

Boom, nicnt created without any error message. HOORAAAAY!

Cut and pasted it to the direct drum fury file together with document, instrument and sample, now, the final jigsaw completed, looks beautiful and good to go.
Then add library? nope, library not found. i'm like?????????hello??

7, Maybe, just maybe, the maker is not put "close" enough to the specific plugin?
So, copy pasted the maker 2 right to the direct drum fury path, which is D:\plugins\kontakt\drum fury-sample logic\DRUM FURY

Like, when the nicnt is created i didn't even have to cut paste it.
Also in the process i realized wallpaper is missing so got myself the wallpaper prepared and put in above path altogether too.

AAAAAAAAnd still failed. xml and json already exist. So i went to delete these two.
Try anew. failed. nicnt succuessfully created AGAIN without error message, but when adding library still "lib not found"

8, Search. Went to regedit. Further delete drum fury stuffs under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Native Instruments
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments
Delete xml and json again. Make sure everything clean.
Still. Fail. It always create nicnt without trouble but useless when adding library.

8, Delete everything aaaaaaagain. switch from maker 2 back to maker: the everlasting "can't registry key"

At this stage, this is the first problem that is beyond my capability to self-solve relying solely on "reading" internet information, so I had to pop up and start "asking". Please excuse me for any of my ignorance as i'm relatively new to this field...... if anybody saw this thread, please kindly help, very much obliged in advance!

Finally, I just have to put these in words because the experience of me wrapping my head around music softwares of these past few days is utterly emotionally overwhelming:
I would like to express my infinite gratitude to bob dule, to every contributors from all around the world, we may never get to know each other in real life but all of you helped me TREMENDOUSLY - that's the magic about internet, it is truly by far the greatest tool that human beings have ever invented, powered by countless enthusiastic selfless lovely real people behind the screen.

Learning music making with digital tools from scratch all by myself is exceptionally hard, not to mention I live in a country with restrictions, not so many good free resources I can gather to learn by self if using only domestic internet... these softwares and thingy are a whole new system for my brain to accommodate - I underestimated the real difficulty of this hell of a ride - you solved this problem and in joy? Another popping right up the next minute. It's a constant recurring of all kinds of impediments, absolutely no one is there to tell me what is what, just like any other skilled hobbies that I learned - it has always been trials and errors for me, internet is my one and only guidance.
Obstacles after obstacles I overcame, walls after walls I broke through, it's thanks to all of you, or I could have never come this far.

I love BobD's stuff. He is a master genius with all things NI & beyond. However the one and only NICNT-gen I have consistently proper results from every single time is Tracers tool from sisite. Simply do a search for Native Instruments Nicnt-Generator v2.1 x64-TRACER on sisite and grab that one. Works every time, for me at least.

HINT:
Once made, the NICNT file (along with the appropriate wallpaper.png file) should be placed into the instrument library folder root. Then open Kontakt and add the lib as you would any other. Remember once you add the lib successfully, quit and restart Kontakt to have it show up in the list.

Hello! Thank you for the alternative solution!
Bad news is I'm unable to open the sister site... As I said in the ending of original post, I live in a country with restrictions... firewall is imposed, to be precise.
It's already an effort for me to break through the wall and reach to the "outter internet", to be able to even just post here. But it seems the sister site will ban traffics from VPN - I searched a bit even for this tiny information lol.
So, if I don't use VPN, I gain access to nothing, but if I do, I lost access to the sister site, which, I believe could have been very useful to me from what I read in posts here. What a dilemma eh?

Good news is, after more research, problem solved.

Alas. Still all alone, solved yet another and hopfully the last problem... From this point on, I should have everything desired equipped for composing. Well, for now at least. God forbid I spend more time and nerves on tech issues...
