    Here I have the following simple chord progression (picture). It's basically a two bars sequence repeating one more time, so that we have 4 bars. So it's really a two bars chord progression repeating all over again.

    I would like to turn this into a genuine 4 bar loop with a variation of the chord progression in the second half (the last 2 bars).

    What suggestions do you have?

    The progression is Dm7, Em7, Dm9, Em7 repeated (unless I'm mistaken).

    For the second four chords you could try something like Dm, G, F, A7. (Doing this in my head, so I'm imagining the sound of it!) Or maybe try Am7 instead of A7.

    Using these inversions will give a nice rising melody at the top:

    Dm = D-F-A
    G = D-G-B
    F = F-A-C
    A7 = E-G-A-C#

    But anything is possible. Just my first thoughts!

    I love that chords!
    A tipical 7th progression, very used into house productions: this is a call to action for me and I felt I had to to arrange something housey-jazzypiano-ultra90's with it (just don't pay attention to the non-existent mixing)

    Maybe take a look at something like Scaler 2 from Plugin Boutique?

    Without knowing what mood and genre you're going for, it's kind of anyone's guess.

    Here's a suggestion for the second half: F6->G7->Am7->Dm add9

    You end the first half on Em7, going F6 after that would follow up with 3 notes in stepwise similar motion in Dorian and carry over the D too. EGBD->FACD

    With G7 after F6 you carry over the F and have two notes in stepwise contrary motion. FACD->GBDF

    Am7 triple stepwise contrary motion, carry over the G. GBDF->ACEG

    Dm add9 - return to home. Carry over the A and E, subtonic C to tonic D. ACEG->FADE
