Why can't I play some synths with the laptop keyboard while the plugin's window is active and I have to activate the track in Ableton to get the sound? The track is armed all the time. For example, I can't hear anything while browsing the presets with up/down buttons in Diva without activating the track. In contrast, DS Audio Thorn can play sounds while its window is active.

I have just checked it in AL 10 and there is no problem like this. I can browse and play freely without jumping with my mouse from the preset browser to the track to activate.

 

I have just edited options.txt. This solves my problem:

"EnsureKeyMessagesForPlugins (Windows only)
Line to add to Options.txt file:
-_EnsureKeyMessagesForPlugins
This option solves a problem with certain VST plug-ins (such as NI's Reaktor), where keyboard data does not reach the plug-in."

So my entry is /-_EnsureKeyMessagesForPlugins and the keyboard reaches Diva.
