Today I play with IANNIX and Live... so I document play in series of videos :)

First of all, what is IANNIX ?

It's practically open source graphical sequencer... that's in few words. Go to web page of product for more information: http://www.iannix.org/

    PART 1

In the first video I create a max4live midi component and play with it (I found on someone youtube channel how to create), but there is a problem with velocity.

Basicaly, I'm not in M4L coding so, even if I'm developer (but for other type of software) :), so I don't know how to raise velo etc...

First part also demonstrating how to use the whole thing !

    Video link (part 1)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OojZqVHlSgc&feature=youtu.be

Note, when I add some fx, my PC going to die :)

    PART 2

In second video I use M4L component from the page: http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device.php?id=699

This component has velocity feature... it's on the right side of component, first is read value and second must be raised (velocity boxes).

There is a one little thing, I must change these values for component to work correctly:

    1) udprecieve port change to 57120 insted of def.value 2000
    2) route object change to "route /trigger" insted of "route /cursor" (if set to cursor, then you will get constant reading from the cursor object from IANNIX)
    3) IANNIX config: enable MIDI -> OFF
    4) IANNIX config: OSC in port -> 1234
    5) IANNIX config: default IP -> 127.0.0.1, port: 57120

Now, I have great velocity... I just play with curves and speed and wideness of cursors etc... You can see how to change properties for all objects, every cursor can has it own setup etc...

    PART 3

In this video I use Operator's randomly choosed bass patch and putting all together with kick and perc loop...
Because of iannix m4l reading data and send random midi notes, I put Scale midi component in fron of bass patch...

    Video link part 3

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTQoAhKfp3U&feature=youtu.be

    Conclusion !

At the end I realize one thing! I must start to learn M4L concept (coding) :) Until that I'm stupid.

There is a one thing that I note, there is no midi sync between IANNIX and Live, or I don't know how to use it :) Therefore, in third video random bass is out of sync !

On IANNIX web page there is a lot of projects, http://www.iannix.org/en/projects/ worth to see what people do.

I would like to learn how to setup every trigger fire own midi channel, to setup drum rack etc... (put the three circle on IANNIX, first will fire kick, second snare, third hh etc...)

... after all, a nice morning in my home studio :)
