    So....

    On the assumption that my "samey sounding" tracks may be to do with starting with the same workflow...
    (Captain Chords or Scaler)
    I decided instead to start with just Serato Sample.

    10 instances of Serato Sample later, and a quick arrangement and I still end up back to my "signature sound".

    Pfffft...
