    Hello dear friends!

I'm thinking of getting this for my next laptop which will be purely a music production machine.

    https://www.amazon.com/2020-Dell-G5-Gaming-Laptop/dp/B08KGHJJBR

Only difference being, I will have 16GB RAM in it.

Would be grateful if any of you PC experts here honored me with your opinion.

    Thank you!

Unless you need to upgrade right away, hold off until February or March. Sooner if prices drop for current models. AMD & Intel will be releasing new CPUs for Desktop & Laptop.

15% to 20% average performance gain
    More PCIe lanes
    PCIe 4.0 from Intel
    More cache from Intel
Better CCX & cache layout from AMD
    USB 4.0 (USB4)
    Improved network devices
    Improved mainboard memory topology

Direct from Dell at $1,199.99 U.S.
    https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/del...aptop/spd/g-series-15-5505-laptop/gn5505dymns

For $190.00 more you get the current top tier retail AMD mobile CPU.

Looks quite good for a laptop at that price. Of course you're gonna have a 144hz screen you won't need but seems a good choice with 16GB.
I checked the CPU specs, very good.
