Actually I know of two families that have one in their house.
One of them got their baby pig sold as a super-expensive and rare-breed "bonsai pig" that would stay relatively small and cuddly, only to find out after a while that it wasn't.
Not much space left on the couch today. And the hog loves the couch.
The other family take the dog, err, hog out every day.

I never met a pig I didn't like. They love a good belly rub as well as pulling the skin on the underside of their necks, and stretching it around can make them moan in delight They are really smart, smarter than the average dog. Probably the very worst place to work in the world is a pig slaughterhouse because they are smart enough to know exactly what is going down and they talk amongst themselves, freaking out and screaming and squealing really, really loudly about what they know is to come, their bloody and final fate. Pigs don't watch American football, shunning the game as a whole because the ball is made out of pig skin. On the other hand, they simply adore boxing, watching two humans pound and punch each other until one or both is bleeding or the other is rendered unconscious. Yea, pigs are into that.

 

That's why ISIS/ISIL hates U.S.A. and the western coultures.

I grew up with pigs, but I was too young to remember them. I think the shock of eating my brothers created a lapse in my memory.

Having "pigs at home" is pretty normal around the world these days! We´re talking about millions and millions of families having "pigs at home"!

Back in the 1930´ties and way up to the 1950´ties it was a common practice in many parts of the western world as well, so people could get some meat!

 

When I was a child that is how we got bacon & ham & chops. We raised 2 every year. But the smell! Even though I would feed them apples I picked from the ground under our trees it came out of them smelling horrible! Worst smell in the world! [and it carried on the breeze]

 

I don't think human shit smells like roses, either. Have you ever been to a public bog?
