Well, i have not had any timebomb or call home in so long ... I can't really remember when or what.
But i HAVE avoided known timebombs (u-he and a couple of others).

I installed the Pianoteq May 23 Portable version on May 24 and it's still working in both standalone and vst.
Maybe it needs a certain amount of use? I have not been using it much... but i will begin running it.

    i got solution,

    1. download firewall app blocker
    2. open pianoe (standalone)
    3. find it use firewall app blocker (use "add proccess"), then block outcome and income
    4. unistall pianoe with revo (on scaning mode select "Advanced")
    5. reinstall pianoe

Once again the internet connection to a machine running production warez drops the blade on activations... App blockers, firewalls, A/V services, malware/spyware blockers - none of these belong on a media production machine (legit or warez'd)...

    1. All this junk saps up valuable resources that takes away from the production apps who vying for the same resources.
    2. regardless of all the resource hogging stop gaps one tries to throw at them, registration algo's built into many apps will still run and end up deactivating serials and reg keys behind the scenes.

    Course of action;
Permanently remove the internet connection completely - either wired or wireless from any/all production boxen. Get rid of firewalls, malware/spyware blocks, Anti-virus, etc, and reclaim those resources back to your production efforts.

That may be best practice for those who have a separate computer for production.
Anecdotally it seems that MOST PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE A DEDICATED PRODUCTION MACHINE.
So, while MOST people may be wrong in your opinion, and MOST people may be wasting resources.
And MANY apps will still run and end up ... well, those offline issues have nothing to do with keeping the machine offline as a dedicated production machine, so I don't know why it's tossed in there.

Either way, the only thing I have ever used is Windows built-in firewall, managed by WFC.
It uses few resources , as many other small programs do.

So, everyone who has set up a production machine should forgo the ability to connect to the internet?
What if that's their only machine and the only way of downloading anything to install in a reasonable way?

    Really...

You dont need to dl firewall app blocker as every firewall a.f.a.i.k has the ability to block both exe and other files like dll files etc from access internet so just locate the exe file in program files dir and block it

A hardware firewall is a great option if you want to do things this way. The only thing is, a cheap junk computer can cost just as little as a cheap hardware firewall. But I do not understand the whole "programs eating up clock cycles" thing. Sure, a realtime malware scanner/virus scanner can do that. Especially if it periodically re-scans the entire machine, it will slow that mf to a crawl. A light software firewall does nothing of the sort. The Virus/Malware scanner, I agree %100. The rest is such a small resources usage, that if these things are all fighting for resources where you notice them; you need a better computer or better resources management when producing in your daw. You do not need 150 plugin instances in a 1 song project.
