Physical Audio released a new instrument derived from its physical modeling pursuits. Staying in the spirit of the developer’s excellent Spring and Plate reverbs, Preparation generates the sound of ‘prepared’ strings and combines it with MPE support for advanced expression.

Sounds a bit like a singing saw heard through a thin plastic tube.

What the hell is the guy in the demo doing? Surely there are nicer ways of testing this thing.

Cool stuff though. Would be interesting to see how they implement this concept later on. Looks like an early step on sample-free string instument emulations.

 

The non-video demos on their homepage are much better.
The keyboard abuser must have been paid by the competition for preventing sales .
