How do you handling phase issues ?

I have tried to EQ it in the mid side but think it removes a lot of the stereo sound?

Is there another method where it does not sound like mono?

Important : Not all phase problems should be fixed. Some actually enhance your mix.

 

i use the pro q / in side mode like this

if it sounds to mono after fixing you can copy the bus and pan one to the left and the other to the right ;)

What do you mean exactly? What is the issue?

I offset audio. I invert polarity. I rotate phase (with a variable phase rotator). There are many ways to align/fix phase. I think you need to be more specific what the source audio is and what your issue is.

Well if you are talking about phasing issues resulting from a single synthesizer sound, its best fixed in the oscillator settings itself by reducing phase randomization, detune and the stereo field used by the oscillator if your synth has such feature.

Reese basses in particular are a pain in the ass. You try reducing the stereo field it occupies it starts sounding like shit. Couple that with some distortion and mix with headphones, literally Einstein level difficulty problem to solve
